For BioWare's games, I always see topics like: "What were your favourite companions?" so I thought, why not make one about your least favourite sqaud members of Mass Effect and/or Mass Effect 2.

Mine would probably have to be Jack. When I first saw her in the trailers before the release of ME2, I thought the game was going to be ruined. She seemed to be just a shallow, "badass" character for twelve-year-olds to drool over. :P When I played the game, she was better than I suspected but not far from my original thought of her. Then there's Zaeed who was even more shallow and completely devoid of any unique, noteworthy personality traits. The only interesting thing about him was that he helped form a large mercenary group and some of his stories were interesting too.

I guess I also started to dislike both Kaidan and Ashley after encountering them on Horizon. They were both alright in Mass Effect, though neither of them was a very interesting character when compared to Liara, Garrus or Wrex, but in ME2 - they were both unfair to Shepard when meeting him/her. It made sence because both of them were self-righteous military types and never liked Cerberus, but still, I didn't like em after that... hope Mass Effect 3 will change that. :)

I think there's a good chance, if you save the game again afer doing the edit it will basically be an "original save" again and ME3 will have no problem importing the variables. Lone_Warrior_66

I hope so. :)

Alright, so after recently discovering that Garrus will return as a squad member in Mass Effect 3, I was devastated. Why? Because he died on my first (and main) playthrough of Mass Effect 2. I couldn't be bothered to complete the game for the fourth time, but Garrus is one of the best characters in the Mass Effect trilogy and I had to have him in ME3. So I downloaded gibbed's save game editor for Mass Effect 2 (PC version). I changed the flags so that Garrus survived and, while I was at it, I also changed them so that Jack survived since she was the only other character that died on my playthrough.

Just in case the save game would be corrupted or something like that, I made a back-up version of it. Anyway, so I launched the game to test the save file (the saved game I edited was after the main missions) to see if the squad mates I mentioned were avilable, and they were. I went around the Normandy to talk to both of them and Garrus had normal, endgame dialogue. Yay! On the other hand, Jack (who was the only character that wasn't loyal to me, but I had to change her status to loyal because if I remember correctly, all the characters had to be loyal if you wanted them to survive) simply told me to "**** off!" whenever I tried to talk to her... literally. Yeah... that stayed the same as it was before the final mission.

So now I'm worried for two reasons: will Garrus be avilable as a squad member in Mass Effect 3, even though I edited the save game after he died? And will the save game be readable by ME3, even though it was edited? Thanks in advance to anyone who comes up with answers. :)

My expectations for ME3 were very high... but after Dragon Age 2 and all this crappy DLC (probably thanks to EA) I've pulled them down quite a bit.

...and they were also the only thing that could restore functionality where the body failed permanentlyN7v1K0

That would explain the result of the poisonous drink in Omega.

Here is a short list of all the BioWare games I've completed, in order of awesomness:

  1. Mass Effect 2 (10/10)
  2. Dragon Age: Origins (9.5/10)
  3. Mass Effect (9/10)
  4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (8.5/10)
  5. Dragon Age II (8.5/10)

Hopefully, both Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic will be somewhere at the top. :) I also played the first Neverwinter Nights and Jade Empire but those games are my brother's, so I never played them that much and I can't say what they're really like. I remember that NWN felt very atmospheric and JE was pretty cool, but didn't appeal to me that much. I never played Baldur's Gate or Shattered Steel.

Garrus, Grunt and Legion are a must. Apart from them: Liara, Tali, Miranda, Thane, Mordin and Wrex. I didn't really care that much for Zaeed, Jacob, Samara & Morinth. I also disliked Kaidan and I hope Jack and Ashley never come back. :P Never played the DLC with Kasumi so I can't say anything about her.

Also... BLASTO FTW!

Hello, I'm Bamul. I like role-playing games, shooters and usually enjoy games with likeable characters, good stories and fun gameplay the most. Mass Effect has been one of my favourite series since the PC release of its first game. I own both Mass Effect & Mass Effect 2 on the PC, since I am mostly a PS3/PC gamer. I'm looking forward to posting more in this union.

However, I'm a bit worried after reading: "Do not question our authority" in the rules thread and I'm not sure if this is the union for me. This is mainly because I always question all sorts of authority (governments, the police, laws etc.) and I'm completely against fascist and/or nationalist views. I also hate authoritarians... so I hope that section of the rules was written in a jokative manner. :P

Is it so hard to grasp that if you had the .1 increment, then everyone would be happy and if you don't, then there will always be someone who isn't happy.Bamul

How many times do I need to repeat myself?

Yeah, having the review emblem things and maybe being able to include images with captions would be really good (as well as many other suggestions that were made in the User Review Requests Archive Discussion!thread). I don't think too highly of IGN either, I prefer GameSpot. But I am not happy with people constantly bashing and bashing IGN. When they talk about CoD people get angry at them, when they don't, then people get angry at them for not talking about it. :? Besides some of their scores are surprisingly "independent", meaning that they are one of the sites whose critics tend to not follow scoring trends... which isn't good if they are doing it JUST for the sake of standing out, but since they don't do it that often, I don't think that's the case.
