I'm against cloning humans and I believe God is also.

narlymech

Why do you think God is against cloning? just curious

Cloning isn't holy like procreation is.

So reproduction is considered holy, but from my quick search and limited Bible knowledge I found Genesis 1:28:

And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

It doesn't say that creating a human through means other than sex is immoral anywhere that I can find, unless I am missing something and can be enlightened?

If anything the verse above suggests that we multiply in the most efficient way possible. If God gave us the ability to reason and advance technologically, then why is this technology immoral over others?

Cloning humans is ethically questionable because of the soul. I believe souls exist, but I do not know if God grants clones souls.BranKetra

So if we assume God exist, and creating a clone could only create a person with no soul,

then why would it necessarily be immoral to create a clone? If something does not have a soul is it inherently evil? Or is it because you believe said being would be cheated out of an afterlife because it has no soul?

[QUOTE="thebest31406"] ugh...that's why I don't listen to that crap.  It's also the reason why I don't listen to death metal.

thebest31406

I think there has been a trend in more recent rap to move away from this kind of music, I hear more well thought out lyrics than I used to and it's finally starting to be about more than violence/girls/booze

edit: but don't get me wrong, there is still a lot of sh*t out there

Seems that way. Music of all genres has become so pop now and from what I can tell from the commercials and car radios, rap sounds very auto-tuney, with lyrics mostly having to do with money, fame and excess. I'm sure there's plenty of booty and champagne in the lyrics as well. Would you say that the majority of rap deals with violence even now?

I dont think it deals with violence as much as it used to but it's definitely still there. It will be interesting to see how the genre evolves over the next decade or two.

Just looking at the top ten rap songs I see Rich as F*ck by Lil Wayne which has some violent lines here and there

[QUOTE="thebest31406"] To be honest I don't listen to today's music. I do know that folks like Kanye, Jay-Z, 50 are the premiere stars today. Are they doing violent rap music today?

thebest31406

Yes rap in general is pretty damn violent. Heres some Mo Murder by Bone Thugs with lyrics for ya
