I think that if you are turning casuals into hardcore the nearest games shop should give you a commission, do you work there? trylks
It's more of a grassroots operation really. Ease them into Tetris, DDR, Puzzle Quest, Harvest Moon, Sim City...graduate into some Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Splinter Cell...I'm also getting non RPG gamers into the RPG genre by showing them Secret of Mana and Paper Mario and I have a decent success rate.
Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn. The other Fire Emblem games got good support, Path of Radiance, Sacred Stones...no one seems to be talking Goddess of Dawn though.
Okay, so XBOX 360 has full blown online, PS3 is a graphic and media powerhouse and the Wii is trying to get everyone on the planet to play the system.
The Wii isn't a fad. It's making a profit. It's not going away anytime soon.
Question: Do you guys truly WANT new people playing video games, people who wouldn't normally play games (casuals) or would you rather have a system made solely for your gaming needs.
My approach is simple. I'm turning casuals into hardcore. Some friends who weren't into gaming now are into alot and I'm even getting their parents into the act. My parents like games a lot and have fun.
I believe there is a game out there for ANYONE.
What are your thoughts?
I think the article was unneccesary and a waste of everyone's time. That's all.
I guess I feel comfortable enough to say "Long Live Sony! Long Live The PS3!" though.
I don't like online very much. I don't have broadband and people look down on me because of it.
Second, what if you don't have friends? Say, if a 43 year old office worker loves his Halo a great deal but feels uncomfortable about playing with strangers are we all SOL if we don't like playing with people we don't know?
(Granted, I have yet to find an FPSer who wouldn't play with strangers but still...)
Getting there.
Aside from posting what are the other signs of a Gamespot habit? Like keeping a blog here? Reviewing anything on site? How do you guys "feed the beast" ?
I'd like to know what happens to that Dev because of this.
But who declared "Development" as a neutral party? Don't these guys have likes and dislikes since they are on the inside?
