Its not so unlikely, that PS4 comes out earlier and it continiues to co-exist with PS3 for some time, just like PS2 existed with PS3!

They should fix the damn web srufind and allow us to listen to mp3s or surf web while in-game. And render distance is getting annoying in some games, i hate to see how things pop into existence right under my nose :( Also, HDD is terribly slow, its slower than any of the office PCs have, even they can usually outperform the PS3s HDD!

I think 2013-2014 will be fine. Dont forget that longer they delay the PS4, more computing power it will have. The computing power doubles like every 18 months to 2 years. So if it comes a year latter, it will have even more kick in it. But then again, i wish they made better internet browsing, added ability to listen music and surf the web while playing games and give us signifigantly better render distance at open world games! And i want 1080p as standard for any game, or at least as minimum!

Its all because of the PS3 is getting old. Lets face it, PS3 doesnt have enough memory to load all the textures in time, so it "forgets" everything outside the immediate view. Its basically a hardware problem and they cant really fix it untill PS3 either gets more RAM or new PS4 is released.

I wish they made much better version of Lord of the Rings: War in the North, something that is not about looting and xping your level up just you can buy more powerful weapons and armor :( And then they added like magical machinegun or whatever to that female character, suicide bombing orcs and giant ballistas as something equivalent to machineguns, very big atmosphere breakers really.

I would say Infamous and Just Cause 2, both are great open world games.

Also consider buying mafia 2 if you like good SP story, altrough its too short but its still very fun.

Dont waste time or money on DLCs, they are medicore at best.

The lag could come from overheating as well. Maybe it doesn't have enough cooling? It surely can't be a blu-ray, but your HDD might be dying as well. Or it could be video card problem. Either way its most likely a hardware problem and have your PS3 checked out. One day your system might burn out all together, so do it ASAP.

I keep my games all in theyr original boxes. Always. Though i don't have many retail games really, mostly just steam releases. But i have some retail PC games and around 10 PS3/PS2 titles. I always put discc back to original box when removing it from my system.

I bought Crysis on PS3 for same reason - to see how it compares. Even ran them side by side. I can tell that PC version looks like sequel to PS3 version, thats how far above the PC version looks. But i really like the PS3 quick power switching modes and the fact you won't drain out of energy so quick. PC version (at least vanilla version) has annoying controls for suit powers :(
