FXAA only works with OpenGL games and not Direct3D games. AMD GPUs can use MLAA on nearly all games, whereas Nvidia GPUs can use MLAA in only a very few specific games. Also, FXAA is open-source and AMD GPUs can use FXAA as well.

FXAA works on ALL dx9 games, some dx10 and 11 as we speak.
Actually, yes you are correct. I was mistaken. FXAA works with DX9 games but not many DX10 and DX11 games. Therefore, it is not by any means an all-games-encompassing anti-aliasing solution. AMD's MLAA works on far far more games!
