Belegorm Blog

Over six hundred posts

Well, I've got over six hundred posts now (yeah, wow; whatever), so I thought I'd put that o-so-important-milestone here.

I've been taking the time to play the SNES version of Tales of Phantasia, and also playing Fire Emblem 3 and 4.

This has been an update from Belegorm.

I beat Tales of Phantasia!

I just beat Tales of Phantasia, and the minigame you unlock afterwards, Let's Go Arche (it happens chronologically after the main game, and the best ending of them all (the one I got), kind of makes up for ToP's bittersweet ending.

Plus I've unlocked the Maniac difficulty setting for the game, so once I finally get a Gameboy Player, I'm going to play it again.

I really do need to get Tales of Symponia and Tales of Legendia (though I'm nervous about Legendia; they say it's somewhat different).

Tales of Phantasia was based on a book written by the game's programmer, Yoshimaru Gotanda, Tale Phantasia.  I've been searching forever to find a translated version on the web, but so far no luck; most people never have even heard of the book.

I think I'll watch the translated version of the Tales of Phantasia four-episode anime again now, to try and prolong the ToP experiance... I don't want the game to be over!

Tales of Phantasia!!! Awesome!!!

I just got Tales of Phantasia for my GBA!!!  It's one of the greatest RPGs ever, and my personal favorite!!!

Sorry for the crazy usage of the exclamation-points, but it really is a great game.  I've almost beaten it.

This has been another micro-update from Belegorm.

Back from a trip, and 500 posts!

Well, here's finally another blog.

I got back a week ago from a trip down to see friends down in Augusta Georgia (which is where I used to live).  There was a LOT of Melee going on, and I finally unlocked Mewtwo and Mr. Game and Watch.  Yep that was fun.

A few days after getting back, I finally beat the super-hard event 36, "Space Travelers", and quickly beat all the other events, right up through event 51.  I've now unlocked all the characters, stages, Sound Test, everything except some more trophies and I need to beat All-Star with ever char.

I'm a "Swordsman" player; that is; I'm good with Link, Young Link, Marth, and Roy.

Also some Soul Calibur II action has been going on as well.

I recently bought Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millenium 2001 for the PS 2.  Cool fun game, makes me feel like I'm playing an old 2D fighter in the 90s (I wasn't into gaming really back then).

Also, I just recently reached the 500-post mark, and I'm almost to level 13!

This has been an update from Belegorm, in the world of my gaming news.

Wow, second emblem (after the registered member one)

Wow, I just got a "World Cup Fanatic" emblem (before I'd only had the registered member emblem).  I don't recall being a "World Cup Fanatic" (I didn't even know that the soccer world cup is on Friday), and all I did was watch the fifa soccer match live (yes, I'm American, I say soccer-- though only so it's not mixed up with football; honestly, real football has less foot-action than soccer, though).

I just got some new GBA games for the trip I'm going on soon.

Advance Wars 2, Sword of Mana, and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.

I'm leaving on the 10th (Saturday), going to visit some friends in Augusta Georgia (which I lived in before moving here).  Finally, I'll be able to face off against my friends in SSBM, Soul Calibur II, and Advance Wars 2.

For any reading this (I highly doubt there is anyone, unless I someday become a better-known GameSpot user, people might read this later), don't expect a blog post for a while (though possibly I could do one while I'm over my friends; though it's not likely).

Anyway, this has been a blog from Belegorm.

Over 400 posts

Well, hello folks (or at least imaginary folks, as no one's reading this).  It's me, Belegorm.

I just realized that I've got 404 posts.  Cool!

I've also been playing some older games.  Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons, very great game, the sequels should have been released in English.

I've also been playing The Elder Scrolls: Arena, not a bad game at all, rather fun, though it shows it's age way more than UW2:NH does.  At least it's available for free download from Bethedsa's TES website.

Home at last

Well, I'm home at last, and I never want to see a laptop again in my life.

This has been another micro-update from Belegorm.

Going home soon... praise God

Thank God I'm finally going home today... not that I don't like staying over my grandparents (I actually do), but I've started to miss home.  Not to mention my GC and PS 2!!!

Nothing much has really happened much... I've rated a few more games (I mostly rate good games, I usually don't bother with rating bad games, and I usually check GS before I go out and buy a game, ensuring I get a good one).  Then I realized that I'd made a typo in the beginning of that review for Sword of the Samurai, and that I hadn't covered the games graphics, music, and technical.  I'd just like to say that all these things in SotS are flawless.  The graphics and music have a distinctly Feudal Japanese theme, and the game runs at a smooth framerate (it's so old, obviously it runs well on any computer), though for it to run very well you need DOSbox.  It even pops you little bits of Zen in loading times (which are short, just long enough to read it).

Surprisingly enough, I haven't hardly touched my Gameboy on this trip, I've just been hanging out on Gamespot when I can, watching TV (I usually get bored with TV after a very short amount of time), and going out to the Science Center with my grandfather.

Quite an interesting trip, really, but I'll be glad to get back and get to playing Chrono Cross again.  I didn't get far in that game a week or two ago, when I realized that I need a ps1 memory card!  So I ordered one off Ebay, and it should have arrived by the time I reach home.  I did play Chrono Cross enough to ensure that I knew what I was doing when I rated it 10.0.

I'm soon hopefully going to get Fire Emblem (my mom for some reason thinks there might be witchcraft in it... yeah right), then Final Fantasy Chronicles, which includes Final Fantasy IV, and Chrono Trigger (I got Chrono Cross, the sequel, so I thought I'd get the original).

Today's the first of June... summer is starting.  Though I homeschool, and I'm behind, so I'll be doing a little Math and Grammer this summer, it won't be much though.  Anyway, today they stop selling ps1 and n64 games at GameStop, so it's good I picked up Chrono Cross when I did.  I hope there'll be a price drop on ps2 and gamecube games soon.

Anyway, this has been a blog post from Belegorm, your latest in global gaming... er, at least my gaming, news.

Postscript (yep, that's what P.S. stands for), can't wait for On the Spot, we'll be seeing footage of Wil Savage, according to what they said last week.  One hour and fifteen minutes until I go home.

All that work done, first review!

Wow, I finally finished posting my collection, it's bigger than I thought.

And I posted my first review!  Sword of the Samurai, a little-known PC game that came out years ago.  Sid Meier was involved in it's creation.  I highly recommend it.

Anyway, this has been a micro-update from Belegorm.

Doing new stuff... on someone elses laptop

Well folks (in case there's actually anyone reading), this is my first blog post.  I now officially have too much time on my hand; I'm staying over my grandparents house, typing on my grandmother's laptop that doesn't have a mouse (it has one of those pad-thingys).  For gaming, all I have is my Gameboy Advance, Metroid: Zero Mission (and I've already beaten that, and original Metroid has been unlocked), and Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis.

I've been taking this time to go over my collection of games, putting them in my collection part of my profile, rerating games that I think I need to rerate (just check my present ratings; I'm not too good at ratings, there's two catagories for me: good, and bad; the bad I don't bother with, and the good I give a 10.0).  I'm trying to fix that now, and give more appropriate ratings (though seriously, you'll be surprised at some of the ratings I give---a AAA for Knights of Honor, something around that for Sword of the Samurai, Rival Realms (check out the gamespace for Rival Realms, it's 100% empty).

Maybe I'll actually be getting around to writing some reviews, especially for some little-known games that don't have any reviews; though this'll be once I'm done doing my ratings and my "collection" of games (which, btw, isn't that big, even the PC portion).

Anyway, for anyone who's actually been reading this little-known 15 yr old kid (I'm certainly not well known, I'm a free member, not a GS "celebrity" like an editor or Wil Savage)... *run on sentence*

This has been Belegorm, good day.
