Level 42, Adriana Lima and other Achievements

Hey, I reached Level 42! As always, I must check the reference in the rank name... Hmm, a MANLY game from 1987.

Also, I changed my blog header, so check it out by viewing my profile. A friend made it for me as a sig, but I don't have space for it so I made it my blog header. I love Adriana Lima...

Do any of you have Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena? I need someone to boost multiplayer with... You only need like one guy (for the most of it at least) and then you can play Private matches and get the achievements.

So congratulate me on the level or Adriana Lima, and tell me if you have the game!

Today is my 18th birthday!

A joyous occasion indeed! I am an adult and the world is at my feet. Or something. In reality it's pretty much the same, except I could go drinking, vote and all that stuff, but I still spend my time playing videogames and going to school! Well well. Congratulate me! Also, a picture from my celebration at TGI Friday's;

New Games: Banjo Tooie and Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena

Busy day today. I bought Chronicles of Riddick, which is an excellent game. I didn't play the first one so it was a definite buy. I'm on my way to the mines now. I also bought Banjo Tooie since I enjoyed the first game on XBLA. It's way better than the first one from what I can tell. Didn't play it much since I was busy with the wonderful Vin Diesel! Also bought the new DLC for The Maw, but again... Vin Diesel!

New Game: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

I felt like getting Call of Duty 4 today. I felt like getting a new game with a solid singleplayer with good achievements and a low price, and CoD4 fits just that. I got the GOTY edition for a low price and am loving it. I thought CoD3's singleplayer was awful, and I did not like the multiplayer and singleplayer demos of World at War, but I like CoD4 a lot so far. I guess I just really hate Treyarch... It's not the WWII setting either, as I loved CoD2. It's just the way Treyarch handles story and atmosphere that I really don't like...

CoD4 is a big game on Xbox Live, but I doubt I will play it much online. I don't really like playing games online unless I'm with friends or getting achievements. Speaking of achievements, I'm really pleased with how there aren't any online ones in Call of Duty 4. They still ask you to complete everything on Veteran, but I did that in Call of Duty 2 and think I can pull that off again. We'll see!

New Game: F.E.A.R. 2

At last, I bought F.E.A.R. 2. I've completed 9 of the levels already, and it's been quite a journey. I've been freaked out a couple of times, but mostly the scare attempts are flashier than they are scary, which is fine. Flashy is good. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. It's a lot of fun, and it's a big improvement from the other F.E.A.R. games.

New DLC: GTA IV The Lost and Damned

I bought the DLC earlier today. I played it a bit, went to see a movie and have been playing it since. I'm at 50 percent or so now. I think it's a lot of fun, and it's definitely the best 1600 points I've spent on DLC. You get so much... Loads of new missions, characters, weapons, vehicles, features... I've had a lot of fun with it.

Simply put, if you liked GTA IV you need to buy the DLC.

New Game: Medal of Honor Airborne (and how I didn't buy FEAR 2 today)

I tried to buy FEAR 2 today, but I had some trouble. The first store I went to asked for an ID since they didn't want to sell it to people under 18. I showed mine and she saw that I wasn't turning 18 until the 4th of May. Apparently that store is on a strict diet of Jack Thompson propaganda, because I left the store empty-handed and ridiculed. The next store I went to kept all the copies of FEAR in some weird bootleg-like black boxes instead of the cool green ones we 360 owners love, so I didn't even bother. I have SOME standards.

I then went to one of my favorite stores (in regards to price, and age-checking of course!), Elkjøp, and looked for it there. As always when a high-profile game comes out, they had a seperate stand for it with loads of copies. Except, these were all copies of FEAR 1 and FEAR Files! What the hell? They apparently managed to mess up the shipment and ordered the wrong FEAR games... or perhaps it was an evil scheme to sell those games to unsuspecting consumers who were looking for the new FEAR game? Either way, that sucked... I'll try again later, but I'm fine for now with Lost and Damned coming out soon and the new game I got to borrow;

Medal of Honor: Airborne. I remember playing the demo a lot. I am a fan of WWII games, and although MoH games usually suck, I quite enjoy this one. There's a big problem with the character animations - enemies seem to dodge and turn to evade bullets, but it's really just because the AI is dumb and the transition between animations is poor. Still, I like the presentation, the wobble effect the camera makes and especially the weapon upgrade system. Just kill enough people with a weapon, and the weapon is upgraded with everything from dual magazines to a grenade launcher. You can put a grenade launcher on your scoped Springfield. YOU CAN PUT A GRENADE LAUNCHER ON YOUR SCOPED SPRINGFIELD.

Most WWII games try and be über-realistic, so it's nice to see that this one focuses a bit more on being fun. I mean... "Nazi Storm Elites" carrying MG42s? Awesome.

New Game: Condemned

I was helping my buddy hook up Live, and in the process we traded games. He got to borrow FEAR Files while I got to borrow the original Condemned: Criminal Origins. It was a launch title, so naturally it doesn't display amazing graphics and gameplay.. but I kind of like the play with sound and lights that they do. Right now I'm just near the end of the first level, which was in the demo that I played a long, long time ago.

New Game: The Maw, New DLC: Fallout 3 & GRID

I bought a 4200 MS point card today. I spent 800 points on The Maw, which is an interesting and very cute XBLA game. I then spent 800 points on the Operation Anchorage DLC for Fallout 3 and the 8 Ball Pack for GRID. I just finished the Fallout 3 DLC and it was pretty fun. It has a lovely snow setting and the simulation has ammo and health dispensers and no item degration, which I like. Haven't played the GRID DLC yet, but I plan on soon.

I have over 1600 points left, which I will use on GTA IV: Lost and Damned when it comes out.

New Games: Guitar Hero World Tour & Fallout 3

My friend got Guitar Hero World Tour, so I decided to get it as well. I found the Guitar Solo pack for a nice price, so I'm happy. I also got Fallout 3, at last!

This is my first Guitar Hero game, so I've been spending some time getting used to it. It's coming along quite nice.
