@JDWolfie Not really. The DS isn't sold in stores anymore except for lingering DSi's sitting around.

@telaros The giant new switch in the lower right probably does the same thing as closing the lid on the originals.

Also, this thing is going to be plenty portable. It's not XL size in width etc.

@hellgast0 @JimmeyBurrows And, the XL's have been getting discounted a lot lately. Got mine not that long ago for $160.

This would make more sense if it was sub $100 though... kinda odd it's only a 24% cheaper. Shoulda gone further with it.

Maybe they were afraid it would undercut too much?

@inscript No, it doesn't. It absolutely does not support 4k gaming. MS has never once said that it does, and have never released any information saying that it does.

Having an HDMI port that supports 4k is not even remotely close to the same thing as supporting 4k gaming. Not by a long shot.

There is absolutely no chance in hell that it will be able to render 4k resolutions at any playable framerate. You're insane if you believe that.

@rene9ade520 It's very much NOT ready for 4k gaming. They've said absolutely nothing about 4k gaming, and assuming it would do 4k gaming is beyond idiotic. It is "4k ready" for sending 4k through the HDMI port. That does not mean at all that it would do 4k gaming. The graphics card in it would chug at 12 FPS if it tried to do 4k gaming.

It may.. maybe.. in the future handle 4k output for movies. That's it. It simply doesn't have the horsepower at all do render games at 4k resolution.

You're absolutely insane if you think it can. Or wildly confused about what the graphics card in it is capable of.

@Kristan1711 Because then you can control those things without the Xbox remote?

Say.. "Xbox.. turn up the volume" and it does it. No need to grab a remote.

I think that's pretty rad. I'll be using it quite a bit.
