Watching 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards LIVE

So far I'd have to say that the host of the 11th annual interactive achievement awards, Jay Mohr, is a completely unfunny jerk. His jokes are tasteless, sexist and just plain disgusting. I think he should be banned from any event hereafter. I was tired as hell of his mouth after less than 2 minutes. I don't understand how this sort of behavior is embraced in the public eye. I'm enjoying watching the actual gaming clips and awards being given out, but i could do without Jay Mohr.

I stepped up and bought some sweet PS2 games and some of the older PS1 games. I also got HALO for PC and when I get my Federal tax refund.. I'm hitting the PC gaming isle. The Orange Box! Painkiller: Overdose! :D

GTG.. my bed is callin' me..

Hellgate: Springfield

I've stopped playing all games except Hellgate: London. I just can't seem to tear myself away from the damn thing and playing something else. RAWR! Yeah, I like it that much. The graphics are great, it runs great, the feel of the game is just awesome. I haven't been this excited to play something since WoW and Quake III. Funny sticking those two together huh? I'm still trying to fix the screenshot issue though. I downloaded FRAPS, so hopefully that will work in getting me some decent screenshots and a small amount of video footage. I'll see how I like it before I think about buying it.

After eating a very late dinner this evening I decided to give up on Devil May Cry 2 (I'm sure I mentioned this in another blog post), due to its terrible gameplay, and move on to Devil May Cry 3. Well, I can't. I put in the game disc and it didn't work. So I'm going to have to make a trip back to the stupid game store for another copy of it. This time it better work. I'm praying it's not like my God of War problem. I'll be VERY unhappy. I've installed Resident Evil 4 and I purchased Neverwinter Nights Diamond, which features the first game, two expansions and the mods for it. I haven't installed it yet due to my overwhelming desire to play Hellgate: London.

I'm fixing my yahoo instant messenger friends list so that I can run yim again without worry of strange ppl messenging me. I'll have it up and running most of the time starting tonight or tomorrow, since I can't get my stupid Xfire to work right. I might go back and retry PLAYXPERT, it's like Xfire but it's supposed to have more options.

Killer.. Boobies!

Oh yeah! Now this game brings back a whole lotta memories. I used to play Killer Instinct all the time with some buddies of mine. It seems like soooo long ago now. But seeing this video just about killed me, or at least made me fall outta my chair. Which just about killed me. ACK! Kudos to Video_Game_King for posting this one.

No God of War HERE!!

After much frustration, research and cleaning I found out that I cannot play God of War on my PS2. *Insert select obsenity here* Yeah, I'm not too happy over it. But it seems that I'm not the only person that cannot play it and that has probs. Not sure why, but it is the only game that doesn't want to run. The lens has been cleaned, the unit blow out and dust free etc, etc, etc... ACK! Guess I'll just have to deal.

On another nasty note, I've decided to give up on playing the ridiculously terrible Devil May Cry 2. I'll just read the walk through and do my best to guess as to the storyline. Or maybe I'll hit up a member of the Devil May Cry Union that I'm a member of to give me to skinny as to the plot. I just cannot handle the bad everything about the damn game. I just want to carry on and play Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. I've got the finish it with Dante so I can play it with Vergil. Woot! Ahh, come on, you know what I'm talking about. I just love my horror / action-adventure / rpg games. I can't get enough.

On a semi-good note, I reinstalled Guild Wars and started playing it tonight. All it did was make me miss World of Warcraft. *sob* Yeah, I know. Well, when I can afford the monthly fees again, I'll start playing. Yeah, addict. I wanted to be ready for Wrath of the Lich King, but I just don't see how that is going to happen now. I've been happily and spastically playing Hellgate: London and loving every minute I can get of it. It sucks that Xfire doesn't work with it, but it's my 64bit OS that is the prob. Or rather the lack of a 64bit Xfire app. *cracks the whip* Get to it Xfire!! Well, I'm outta here!!

Boring Hill

Well I made a trip to a local video game store last night to trade a couple of non-played games in and grap a couple of new games. I grapped Silent Hill 2 and The Suffering. I'll start with Silent Hill 2. Boring. Snooze-ville. Need I say more? I just don't have the patience for those type of games. Sorry, but damn. Can we have a tad more going on? It's hard enough getting used to the movement system on a console, let's just make it worse by making it BORING as well. ACK!

The Suffering was just one of those really pathetic games that just sucks. Not sure how to put it any other way. I like the Resident Evil series cause there is just more going on, and it's not boring. I finished the first Devil May Cry and I'm reading to start rocking on the second one. Even though I've heard it's actually the worst of the series. I'll stick it out, cause I'm really looking forward to playing DMC 3: Special Edition. Woot! Yeah, I've got my copy of DMC 4 pre-ordered for PC. Enough for now, I gotta go take these back and get some good games. I hope. ;)

I May Cry?

Not seriously I hope. But I've been staying up pretty late at night in front of my TV and PS2 playing Devil May Cry. Ack! I'm so very addicted. I never thought I'd find a game on PS2 that I could really just sit down and play for a long time. Well, here it is. I found Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition when I was out looking for GameBoy Advance games for my daughter the other day. LOL I got it and I bought Red Faction. I was running into walls and the floor and everything. It was like learning the joystick and mouse on the PC all over again. WOOT! That was a hoot. So, I'm looking forward to relearning the dynamics of the first-person shooter again.

On another funny note. I bought myself Tetris to play on my daughters Gameboy Advance if we go someplace and she decides to let me play it. I know, I'm such a terrible mom. ;) I saw a link to a gaming rental place, kinda like the gamers version of Netflix, $8.95 per month for 1 game and $22.95 per month for 2. Damn, that's a big difference in price. I'm not sure if that would be worth it. Oh, you get a magazine subscription too. But it's to Sports Illustrated or Entertainment Weekly. WTF!? We're gamers ppl, I'm not interested in that crap. I want a subscription to a gaming magazine or a computer magazine. Okay, I'm done with that rant... I'm off to kick my kid off of the living room TV so I can play some DMC, she's got a TV/VCR/DVD in her room anyway. :D

I just realized..

Well, the holiday season is upon us and Christmas is now over (thank God above). I bought my kid Guitar Hero III for PS2 this year. I got the Stryker wireless guitar bundle and all the fixin's... LOL I play it more than she does! Wow. It's amazing how much one little game can turn you into an addict. Good Grief. I think my kid doesn't want to play it cause I am better at it than she is. I just picked up the guitar and started messin' around, and 2 days later I'm beating Lou on easy and I'm off to medium. Ouch.

I had bought myself Clive Barker's Jericho so I'd have something to play too. So when I'm not playing GHIII, I'm zoned out in front of my PC with Jericho. Yeah, my life sucks. Hehehe! To be honest, my hands and wrists aren't really that much better, so the actual play time isn't very long. But I do enjoy every minute I do get. :) Glad to be back playing again. I'll have to warm up my Q3 skills again and join in on some Friday Night Frag Fest action too. Enough for now. Out...

Another birthday floats by...

I'm am beginning to really hate getting older. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and now have problems with a lot of pain in my hands and wrists. I lost my job over it and damn near all of my gaming skills with it. I don't see myself playing much in the way of first person shooters in the future (my first and true love).

I've been slowly getting back into playing some World of Warcraft and I just started playing some RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 with Darian, my daughter. She loves designing but has no business sense. So her parks always end up in the red. She just turned 10 on the 25th. Wow. That really does make me feel even old than I actually am.

So, I've pretty much been hanging around home, trying to keep it clean. Watching DVDs of Supernatural (awesome show) and Medium (pretty good show), and some very light gaming. Waiting to hear from my doctor on some kind of new medicine or therapy that could get me back on my feet where I belong. By the way, sudden intense stabbing pains in your hip/back are not good when you're say..DRIVING! So, I'll just keep my hands to myself when in shops with breakable items (hands go numb sometimes) and I'll wish you all a fair day! ;)

The Grass is always greener...

Well I'm seeing that green grass now.  Finally.  I just leveled last night to 32 on my warrior, and I'm glad I'm sticking with her.  It was really frustrating at first and all the way up to about 30 or so.  But once you hit that point you really start rockin' on power.  I feel much better knowing that I'm hanging in there.  :D  I plan to take Ditheria all the way to 70.  Woot!!

Last night's death-a-thon

Jeez, I swear I died at least 8 times last night.  I was running a few quests that just happened to be in Bramblethorn something and got killed too many times by freakin' poison arrows.  ACK!  Then I joined a group to do an instance, the Wailing Caverns.  That was interesting.  I was the only warrior in the group.  All the others were cloth-wearers.  I was pounded on repeatedly.  I still haven't leveled to 21 yet.  It seems to be taking forever.  I keep having to stop and help my roommate out, and other things pop up.  *sigh*  I'm gonna get there tonight.  I need to pick up a good 1 handed sword tonight and drop by the bank and pick up my shield.  Need to work with that for good tanking results.  Tanking with a 2 handed sword doesn't work so well.  Good Grief!

My roommate is level 16 now I think, so he's slowly catching up.  He's still on our home continent, when I'm messing around in the Barrens.  LOL  I was so bored with Silverpine Forest I could have cheerfully screamed.  ACK!  My hearthstone is still set for the Sepulcher so I have to be careful.  :D  More later.
