I personally really hate M$ as a company. I won't dispute that they know how to make money but if it wasn't for windows being the only good OS for gaming I would avoid them at all costs.Moriarity_Why do you hate them.... they do the most for the consumor and the developer.... whats the alternative? the milking treat you like an idiot apple company that only has a small range of devices to manage in comparison?

Then you dont count in this arguement because you have a PC .... and you used the term "supports my other system nicely" ... "supports" .... knowing full well you wouldnt be happy as a core gamer JUST with a wii.[QUOTE="Birdy09"][QUOTE="Maroxad"]
Exclusivewise, it beats the PS3 and 360.
However, I will agree with you that its overall library, its online, hardware and social elements are weak. Even then, it is my favorite console this gen, because it supports my PC perfectly.

While it is true I wouldnt be happy with only a Wii, I wouldnt be happy with only a PS3 or 360 either. Oh and an avid gamer could go through this generation fine with just a Wii. It dephends a lot on many factors. Longetivity of games, free time available for games, personal taste, virtual console/gamecube games that may have been missed, ect.
His statement is easily countered due to the 2 points you bring up: "Variety" and "Preference" that at the definition of hardcore is SO mis-used here.... ok yes yo have a **** handful **** of long core games on the wii.... that is a minority compared to the other systems.... and im sorry everyonesopinion is different yes but I dont find Mario, Donkey Kong or Zelda or Kirby to be "Hardcore" games that notion is laughable when they are clearly for kids (I stil enjoy them before I get my head blown off by ninty fanboys that say "ITS FOR ALL AGES KK!") but they are not in the slightest bit aimed at challenge, they are easy, calling zelda a puzzle game is laughable in itself .... they are great experiances yet are clearly quite casual.... sure theres extras. But he is right. out of the 4 choices it is by ar the most lacking in hardcore reliant games. as a PC gamer I play alot, and alot of casual games too.... but the ratio is very much in favour of hardcore competitive/deep engrossing RPG experiances ect.... mostly non existant on the wii. Even Tales of Symphonia 2 was a godamn average JRPG compared to Tales of Vesperia you can see which team was the big hitter. He is perfectly corrent in what he says, if people want to take that as an insult because they think theyre "hardcore" for playing on thier wii alot then oh well really :SWe have come pretty close. I got 90% performance boost by getting a core 2 quad of the same speed. Sigh.... thats only becayse BC2 DEMANDS at least a Quad Core CPU to max out properly due to its higher enphasis on CPU for some reason (console port?).... you see nowhere near that ratio in pretty much most other games... and not to mention your card was being bottlenecked in this patcular game due to the old cpu, I gaurentee the majority of your FPS increase is due to the card actually being able to work at its reliable rate.[QUOTE="ravenguard90"]
Although you may have calculated the core speed the way you did as a guesstimation for its maximum performance, the fact is that 'optimal' scenario you were theorizing has never occurred ever since the invention of multi-core processors. Hence, why no one ever uses that calculation to determine what performance you can get out of a multi-core processor.

And yet compared to the other big 3 systems that isnt impressive... then graphics, online, competitive/social scenes are next to non existant... the only online game I have been slightly impressed with wasMario Kart Wii in terms of online... what he says is correct.... for a core gamer experiance it is by far the most lacking.[QUOTE="Birdy09"][QUOTE="Maroxad"]
There are 75 AA and above games on the Wii, of these 35 are exclusive. Plenty of core experiences to be had. Core and hardcore gamers can enjoy casual games as well.

gaming on the wii does not make you any less hardcore then gaming on the hd twins
By any means correct, but your "hardcore" experiance is incredible limited.[QUOTE="contaminated"]Gonna have a huge initial subscriber base but will drop dramatically within 6 months and bleed from there on out until it goes free to play. The game doesn't really offer anything unique that will attain subscribers and the vocalized everything is just a gimmick that will fail.mrbojangles25
the MMORPG genre is far from perfected, and "unique" has not really worked thus far for many MMOs. The best a developer can do, and should do imo, is simply focus on the basics and get as close to perfecting them as possible.
If you want the same dungeon crawl with a 3D lobby forever spanking pinnatas fine for you..... but this genre has so much more potential than that.If its the only thing you play now you barely have a core experiance... thats just how it is.... the system sorely lacks in modern standards its not just about graphics.... dont care what happened in the past...[QUOTE="Birdy09"][QUOTE="Some-Mist"]so if you own every console ever created, play the most hardcore games ever created, play videogames the majority of the day every day, own an insane library of games in basically every genre...but you own a wii you're not hardcore?Maroxad
