The sloppy Sims 2: Castaway and what they really "castaway"

**Sigh**

Why sigh, you ask? Well, I just finished the Sims 2: Castaway for DS, and I'm a little disappointed. It's rare enough for me to ACTUALLY finish the storyline of a game, so, when I do, I get a little misty. With this little Lost-a-like game, I might be misty for the wrong reasons.

The thing is, I thought it was GREAT. In fact, REALLY great, right up until the bloody thing ended. No big bang. Just another tutorial message that blinks up, saying, "Great, you can leave the island now, if you want".... BLECK. What a trashy way to end a game. They give you the option of saying in-game, to complete the million things you can collect, but, honestly, I didn't have the heart. The story, though minimal, was fun, and to go back and just rehash old content by collecting meaninglessly is a waste of a gamer's time. Or at least, this gamer's time.

In related news, I've decided to pick up the PC version of the game. LOL. Don't even start with me. I bet EVERYTHING is going to be EXACTLY the same, just different graphics and different sore muscles from too-long sessions playing the damn game. Sometimes, playing games is a chore. Haha, who am I kidding? None of you, that's for sure.

What with Lost, the Lost-in-Blue series, Castaway the movie, the Survivor television show, the upcoming Harvest Moon a la Island and other spin-offs, people these days are obsessed with this sort of enforced beach life. What could be worse/better than being stranded away from the dregdes of daily life in the hot, hot tropical sun with nothing better to do than improve your cooking skills and eat parrots? People are experiencing the benefits of escapist media through the reality genre. What does that say about the world we live in? Strange times are ahead. Then again, sure sign of the apocolypse, these Bratz games. YUCK. I can live with sand in my virtual food, but not misbehaved, deformed babies who are tasked with world salvation. YIKES.

As always, thanks for tuning in. I'll give a shout out once I've tried this PC version of Sims.
