Zune better than an Itouch?Think of it this way. Just take the analogy for what it is, and don't compare it side by side to reality.
The Wii is the iPod, and the 360/PS3 are the Zune.
The Zune is every bit as good, if not better, than the iPod, but pick any random person off the street and ask which they'd prefer. iPod. Why? Because it makes them feel cooler, and they probably don't even know what the Zune is.
People won't stop buying the Wii just because the 360/PS3 will get motion controls. I'm pretty dead certain that isn't even the reason in the first place, but my analogy still stands regardless.

Zelda: Twilight Princess is still good enough for Nintendo. I doubt that there will ever be another Zelda until TP stops selling like hotcakes otherwise they're going to just waste their dollars on developing new games just to cater to their fans. Philhellene

PhilhelleneThey should cater to their fans. They should start caring more about Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, donkey kong, kirby etc. and less about Grandmas.
I got a question before I continue. Do you own a ps3 or 360?[QUOTE="BlackSubmarine"][QUOTE="treedoor"]
I actually like to use my imagination in games, so yah I would discard those ideas.
Realism is not what I want in my fantasy universes.

Gaming PC/DS right here.
I see. I used to be the same way when I was a wii owner. I thought that graphics/hd/enchanced din't matter. I use to say how stupid people were for because they said graphics were important. I use to say that it's the gameplay that matter and only it. Until I got a ps3 and 360. I realised how much HD and advance hardware enchanced the experience. I mean if you do say graphics aren't important, than do you really think that by the n64 taking a step forward into the gaming hardware that a SNES version of OOT was possible? Sure 2-d and what not, but a huge open world?Yes they were, but what if it had enchanced visuals, psychs, and colors that popped out the screen. More enemies, shinnier armor, amazing character animations, and a world where you could see tons of trees instead of feeling a bit empty. I am not saying LTTP wasn't epic, but let's be honest would you really discard the idea of everything I just stated could have been even better in the game with an HD or Better Specs?[QUOTE="BlackSubmarine"][QUOTE="treedoor"]
How so?
I remember LTTP being epic, and I remember OoT being epic even though both of them are so different in graphics.
Oh, and I beat LTTP AFTER playing OoT.
Graphics are a stupid thing to care that much about.

In return we are seeing more "expand your fitness" and "Mini game plus" selling milllions of copies, while original, creative and games that developers are sweating for are selling poorly and good devs are going out of business. goblaa
Nintendo's not the reason devs are closing their doors. It's because PS3 and 360 development costs are way too high.
I din't say it was Nintendo's fault, I stated the fact that Games that have a bigger budget, and try something more out there than the conventional Mini game collection are selling poorly and dev's are being shut down because they attempt at creating a more epic and memborable gaming experience. While they could have easily made a mini game collection for the wii, and could have stayed in business. Could this be the defining time in video games were we look back 20 years from now and say... Wow look how many epic gaming franchises were released back then, all that sells now and that mainstream tv is showing are crappy Mini Game collections, and then next Brain Teaser.Graphics aren't the most important thing, but they do enchance the experience. So in a way it does lend some importance. Also Zelda would look amazing in HD, the art design and colors would blow off the screen. It would be a huge leap for it.Who wants people to stop caring about graphics?

Frankly, without the wii, I believe we can see better progession for the gaming market.
dkrustyklown
What does that even mean? Nintendo EXPANDED the gaming market, bringing in a whole new audience that hadn't been tapped before. In economic terms, that is a WIN. More people=more $$$.
How can you rationally condemn a marketing strategy that has expanded the consumer base?
Just because you're feeling marginalized is no reason to condemn Nintendo.
In return we are seeing more "expand your fitness" and "Mini game plus" selling milllions of copies, while original, creative and games that developers are sweating for are selling poorly and good devs are going out of business. If this continues thanks to Nintendo gaming will be one big mini game, and non creative enviourment that will have a constant stream of crap games, and less good games. How amazing would it be if we saw more Oldboy, Pans Labarynth, Distric 9... than Dance flick, Generic disney movie, or generic teen movie.
Or how amazing would it be if we saw more bands like Pink floyd, Queen, Led Zeplin... instead of Lil Wayne and Soulja boy.
If you have a good mind, the video game business if it continues this we will see less Uncharted, Metal Gears, Mass effect, Metroid and more Wii Music, Mini game collection.
Last generation possibly Japan. The FF's, Marios, Zelda's and MGS's were so increadible
This generation is America. Most of my game library is American games, and my pc game ... duh. Itouch games are also american.
I guess it's due to the fact that for me Japanese Developers this generation, haven't really hit with Truley original, unique and epic new I.P's
