Polamalu likely out this week

That sucks (unless you're a Ravens fan). I remember very clearly how the Steelers fared last year when Polamalu was out. The guy is about as big of a difference maker as you'll ever see on a defense. I just hope the Jets pick up where they left off the last couple weeks. Then maybe the Steelers can give Troy an extra week off when they play the Panthers.

garey017

Yeah that does suck I was beyond sure the Steelers would kill the sinking Jets but now I have to worry because I seem to remember they didn't do so well when Polamalu was out last from injury.

That being said, still feeling the Steelers are the better team here.

The plot thickens in New York with "Thigh-Gate", "Knee-Gate" or "Trip-Gate" as apparently the actions of the Jets staff tripping a Dolphins player during the game last week have been found to have premeditated. The Jets are now saying that strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi has been suspended indefinately since he apparently told "non-uniformed" players to form a wall.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/New-York-Jets-Sal-Alosi-suspended-indefinitely-121510?gt1=39002

Personally before I read this I felt it was something Jets staff/players were told to do given away by how they were lined up like that but I am not so sure Alosi is ring leader and more likley a fall guy.

Edit: After reading Jets special teams coordinartor Mike Westhoff's comments that the Patriots build walls too I fairly convinced that he was the guy that set this all up because that just seems so whiney of thing to say and clearly a misdirection ploy from a team who has no way to explain themsleves out of this.

San Francisco @ San Diego == If the Chargers win their division this year it will be total luck. I thought they wouldn't be able to do it many weeks back but so much has gone their way since then they have chance. They just need to keep winning and hope either KC stumbles or that Cassel can't play.

Sunday December 19, 2010

Buffalo @ Miami == Certainly a managable win for the Dolphins.

Cleveland @ Cincinnati == WTF Cleveland? How do hang with some of the best team or even beat them and then go and lose to the Bills? Really? Make up for this week.

Detroit @ Tampa Bay == The Bucs might have the edge here with their franchise QB playing.

Houston @ Tennessee == The Texans need to win if they even want to make their 8 win standard and miss the playoffs. Might be time to make a coaching change after this season.

Philadelphia @ NY Giants == despite the Giants wrecking the Vikings last week they are just the Vikings and while the Vick and the Eagles are team that is more flash than substance i think offensively the Giants might be in a bad way with all their injuries so much so they might have trouble putting up points. tough pick here still.

New Orleans @ Baltimore == Tough pick #2. The Saints seem to have come alive while I feel the Ravens are niether special on defeense or offense but still good.

Arizona @ Carolina == Awful game but not easy to pick.

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis == Tough pick #3. Jacksonville needs to what the lame-a__ Texan could not do but it won't be easy. This one is more of a shot in the dark pick for me.

Kansas City @ St. Louis == If Cassel plays, KC wins.

Washington @ Dallas == The Redskins owner said recently that he thinks the team is heading in the right direction so if the Redskins lose this game they must be doing good then as they coninue to head in that same direction.

Atlanta @ Seattle == I can't imagine this will be too much of challenge for the Falcons.

Denver @ Oakland == Broncos stink...shame on me for thinking they might play a little better for a new coach last week.

NY Jets @ Pittsburgh == The Jets will prove once again that they can't hang by dropping their 3rd game in row.

Green Bay @ New England == The Pats have been looking unbeatable and they are even more so I however like to remin grounded so we will see what happens.

Monday December 20, 2010

Chicago @ Minnesota == The Vikings will probably be on the recieving end of another a__ whooping, with or withput Favre.

i just realized the cardinals are still in the hunt for the nfc west thanks to losses by the seahawks and rams.

will we have a 7-9 team make the playoffs?

should a division winner with a 7-9 record be allowed in the playoffs?

I say yes to both questions solely due to the fact and i know people are getting tired of hearing this " anything can happen in the NFL"

heres what i think the nfl should do

if the wild card team has a better record than the division winner example saints 12-4 wild card and rams 7-9 nfc west champs then the wild card teams should get the home game.

However im still mixed with the second question because this season we could have 2-3 teams win 10-11 games and miss the playoffs

gamerguy456

It kind of sucks in some ways that bad teams can make into the playoffs but I overall like the sytem as it is and do not think it should change. First if a team really is that bad more often than not they will be knocked out anyways. I mean do you really think the Cards stand a chance against just about any of the top teams in the league? Jags can probably even crush them.

As for teams that get in because of being in a weak division...that is impossible to remedy because you cannot know who will be weak.

Finally it really shouldn't be the NFL's job to try to "FIX" these things. It up to a teams to make themselves better and by doing so their respective division with that.

You guys see this where a Jets coach actually moves his knee out to hit a Maimi player as he was running down the field. Clearly the class of the league there.

Isn't he the guy who gouged someone's eyes during a play a year or so ago while he was in college? What a scumbag.

Yup, at the Cocktail Party against Washaun Ealey I believe.

it should be noted that in a statement put out with news of the supension Spikes says that the substance in question was neiether an illegal drug nor a performance enhancing one and rather a perscription one and the reports now coming out such as the one on NFL.com seem to confirm that he was taking ADHD drug.

The Chiefs are now listing Cassel as doubtful for the game against the Chargers. Figured people would want to know that for making thier pick for that game.

Edit...

Their coach still isn't saying anything so i would say maybe a gameday desicion.

What I learned last week...

-Manning has become the biggest overrated guy in the NFL

SonicRenegade84

I don't know if I would go that far. He is great QB for sure. I still feel Favre would easily win your "biggest overrated guy in the NFL" award if there was one.

Someone can remind me but if the Chargers lose that game they are done right? They have lost to the Raiders twice already and KC once so...

garey017

That's correct. If the Chargers lose this, the best they can do is tie the Chiefs, and the Chiefs would win the tie-breaker.

They wouldn't be mathematically eliminated from a wild-card spot, but they would have an insanely small chance of getting that.

Yeah I was being lazy at the time but I looked it up later on. They have only won 1 divsion game so far. Just as shocking is the Raiders have played 4 division games and won them all.
