its a marketing ploy.. next you'll be seeing SLI ready HDD's.yoyo462001

I wouldn't exactly say that, I've actually done some hw and looked up some stuff about these. Pretty much what I've gotten is that this memory can be auto-oc'ed by the mobo instead of manually doing it when combined with the 680i boards since it has the extra info it's sending to the mobo.

[QUOTE="Ultra_Violent"]

[QUOTE="yoyo462001"]7/10 and could you tell me where your getting this from because the price/performance for that rig is pretty low.yoyo462001

pcspecialist.co.uk Any where else you could reccomend me? And by the way, forgot to say, I haven't actually got this PC yet. So advice is welcome.

go DELL, you can get everything in that rig but with a GTX and also for 1k.

I'm not sure how shipping will work out for the UK or if they even ship there but when in doubt go to newegg.com. Best customer service in the business and almost always have the lowest price or rebates that will make it the best offer. Forget Dell, they overcharge everything.

I recently just got this as an x-mas gift http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16820231122

and was just randomly looking around newegg and saw this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16820227269

and was wondering since I have an evga 680i chipset board (and haven't oc'ed before but I'm a fast learner) would I really benefit from the sli ready memory?

DO NOT GET ANY OF THE 600 SERIES MOTHERBOARDS!!!

Most are *NOT* compatible with Penryn due to changes in its microcode by Intel and because majority of the VRM's on 6x0i motherboards are not equipped to handle Penryn.

Wait for the 780i SLi if you want Penryn support and SLi support (as well as PCIe2.0).

Wesker776

I guess it's a good thing i'm not getting a Penryn then.....and i'm also through with waiting. Everytime I'm about to get something someone says wait, a new product is about to be released. By the time that product comes out and your about to buy that someone else will say wait, something is about to be released so wait for that to come out first. That's just how the pc industry has become.

Also,I still don't know exactly what the difference is between the 680i and the LT version. I read reviews from people who have LT and says it's the same as the 680i (same chipset) but just one less pci-e slot (for physics card) and some usb ports. So along with the price difference I've decided to go with the LT version.

go look at the evga 680i motherboards

chronogamer27

What is the main difference between these two? The only main thing I can tell is that the 680i has an extra pci-e slot, and it looks like it's cooled differently (don't know much about mobo but that's just what it looks like), also more usb ports but that's no biggie. If I don't want to pay $250 (at the link above) for that board, will the 680i LT suffice for my needs? Not sure exactly how much the different cooling will affect performance or whatnot.

I've pretty much got all my other crap figured out, but for the life of me can't find a good mother board with Sli AND Intel q6600 support that can be overclocked. Thought I had found it with the ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP ATX Intel Motherboard but then saw that it was cross-fire only. I've looked at a bunch of others on Newegg and have seem waay to many neg. than positive comments. So for those of you that have Sli and Intel Processor running what are you using or what do you recommend? I'll post other specs if needed.

I'm wanting to stick to sli due to the new 8800gt which i hear has a slightedge over the new ati 3000 series. So PLEASE HELP so I can start ordering crap already and getting this thing going! Thanks

I know that the emotion engine or chip has been removed from the 80gb version and emulation software has been put in the 80gb version....but what exactly does that mean? Does it only affect the PS2 games and if so how? I just need a little more clarity on this aspect, that's all. thanks!
