In what way does the store's display look superior?

The PS3 is a decent player and your HDMI cable is most likely fine.

Well , i feel that the blu rays i play look just like upscaled DVDs, whenever y go to a store and see a blu ray movie playing, for example i remember watching Transformers on walmart or the Incredible Hulk, the image moves really smooth and when you see the actors it kind of feels you have them in front of you, maybe it has to do something with what type of movies i rent or watch, for example i don't own any high budget bluckbuster movie like those i mentioned on Blu-ray, but ive rented Gamer (crap btw), Law Abiding Citizen and i currently own Superbad and Talladega Nights(which came with my ps3), so before i start buying bluray movies, i want to know why i dont feel the transition on my ps3. I also know i can notice the difference, or else i wouldnt be complaining, so my question is, does the HDMI quality can help improve my HD experience?

Hello, i want to switch my movie purchases to blu-ray but everytime i rent a movie, it doesnt look as good as it does on display on the stores. I have a 42'' full HD bravia that supports 1080p, but when i put a blu or a DVD , i cant feel the difference, so ive narrowed down to two things, one , is the ps3 good as a blu player, or does the quality of the HDMI cable really matter for the quality of the picture. I honestly dont know if the cable im using is good, sure it is an HDMI cable, but it came for free with a pc monitor i think so im not really sure that it helps for me to be able to get the best quality of the movies. So , before going shopping for HDMI cable, i was hopping you guys could shed me some info regarding what may be causing this, and how to get the best quality of the blu ray, also , is there a special set up for the ps3?. How can i make the best of my ps3 as a blu ray player?.

So got the patch, and i was happy that i was able to play with my brother with my own stats , but, the exp didn't carry, and my character never leveled up, is this a glitch, wasn't the patch supposed to let you level with another account?
