Even the most frustrating & challenging games tend to put me in a good place. I find the act of playing video games, just in general, to be very relaxing. Not to say some don't get the heart going, but I consider that to be a good thing too.
They're fun, kind of cookie-cutter with a mass-produced feel but they are well done for what they are. Some are more fun than others, but you know what you're getting when you play one.
Been around long enough to see the transition in real time, and it was admittedly mind-blowing in the moment. At the time it was a bit of a change getting used to the scope of 3D environments, but we learned quick.
I do my best to not use a guide on the first playthrough. If it's a game I truly enjoyed I'll go back through with a guide to find what I may have missed.
I would never feel bad for doing it. I imagine a game developer would get a kick out of knowing they stumped some people, too.
