@rotjunk Maybe something like: "Why not worry about things of actual consequence until November 18, then decide whether to buy the game based on reviews...?".

A game that simulates trying to find your way out of an unfamiliar building while tripping balls on shrooms. I'm in.

@vanti @jack00 I'm pretty sure you can actually play through the whole thing without getting "attacked" by Mary. It seemed like the only time that happened was when I wasn't getting some little clue, like eyegouging the photo (I thought it had been established that there were no action buttons besides R3/zoom, so it took me a while to try just pressing "x" lol). That's how it seemed to me, anyway.

@dfooster I think the graphics help too. There's just so much more presence when you're playing at a high res, coupled with a high framerate. When I got up close to the windows to view the ghost who would sometimes appear outside them and do her spastic thing, it felt like she was a real person (thank you mocap) and inches away from me.

The lighting, as well, was just absolutely stellar. The way the ghost would appear from the shadows at the end of the hall as I got closer with the flashlight made it feel like we were there together in that hallway.

And the graphics in the demo are apparently supposed to be of a lesser quality than the game itself, meant to make it seem more like an indy game for the purposes of keeping the identity of the game a mystery until the reveal at the end.

I would need diapers to play this with Morpheus. And games like this don't usually tend to scare me.

There's nothing as enticing as a thing that defies description.

@novar1999 If there's something going on in the game--some reason to travel around to all these planets in addition to the thrill of discovery--I can totally forgive some graphical sacrifices for a boundless universe to bounce around in. Seems pretty jaw-dropping so far to me.

1940's big band music in 1960? I suppose you could claim the Nazis have crushed all artistic development or something, but you'd think--in that case--everyone would be forced to listen to German cabaret music or Wagner or something.

@robbiejones I really hope you're right. I sold my copy too and have been thinking maybe I'd get to play again on PSNow, but a PS4 upgrade would be so much better.

I really want my nephew to get to play it too, and I think he should be rewarded for jumping ship from XBox to PS for the new gen!

@NTM23 Yeah, it's a bit jaw-dropping, and I thought so when I read his review, too. I think it started with a fundamental misreading of the Joel character and just snowballed from there.
