Ok, what you're gonna want to do is go into your router settings, and find the DNS addresses there.

They should look like IP addresses, and there should be two of them.

The first one is the address with which your router tries to connect to the internet, the second is a backup, for if the first fails. You need to put the exact same two addresses into the Xbox, so it knows where to send its "internets." That SHOULD work, but again say if there are any more problems. OR if it works, actually. :)

Oooh, this is hard...

I would have to say, for that hollywood-style tingle, Halo 3 took the biscuit for me. FFX is just behind that.

In terms of PC though, Bioshock was pretty impressive, and Fallout 3 has some fine art direction.

I do this with mine - Though I use a desktop PC. You need to connect it via the ethernet cable, then bridge that connection to the connection with which your laptop connects, in the 'manage network connections' section.

Then, set up your xbox to wired connection, and try to sign in to live.

If you can't, then go to test connection. Wait a while, after it has tested it MAY work, so try signing in again.

If it only got to IP Address then stopped, you need to give your xbox a manual IP address under options, same for DNS, etc. I can't be bothered to explain unless you absoloutely need me to, justy write back to see if this works.

That's bull. TF2 maps take more effort. They actually have detail and have to maintain balance. Graphics have nothing to do with anything. Halo's maps are just grass landscapes and dull space environments

GodLovesDead

TF2 maps do take more time to balance, I agree. I myself map for it, and it is indeed difficult.

But Halo maps take far longer to flesh out, and because Halo is simply a far more popular game, they go through considerably more customer testing.

DLC/map packs shouldve been free, Steam gives map packs for free. like TF2, constant updates and they add maps, everything for free. AND yes the developers also put effort on that, but guess wat? its still free.def_mode

So because one developer chooses to release low-spec content for free (A map for TF2 tends to take less time than a map for, say, the graphically superior Halo), so should everyone else?

Don't get me wrong, I think 3 map packs, each for 800M$ points is ridiculous, but I see nothing wrong with the Halo model - The content will become free eventually, when we release some more.

In the mean time, we'll have a seperate playlist for those that want to expand their game and are willing to pay over the odds because they like it so much.

But expecting a developer to release extra content is wrong. It's a nice bonus, but you bought a game for the game you bought, and to expect extra, just for free, is selfish. There has to be SOME motivation for the developer.

The Half-Life games. Many people dismiss the story, but it's more subtle than a lot of games and the storytelling itself is excellent.
There are also RPGs and the like, but I'll let the other users suggest them as I'm not big on them myself.

Doom_HellKnight

The Half-Life games are far from subtle. Sure, there is an undercurrent, but they sort of ruin it by making it the sole focus.

The story is in-your-face and there aren't any hooks, twists or plot changes for the WHOLE GAME.

I mean I expected they would at least leave me curious about something other than where the next level would be, but they failed miserably.

I would personally go for Bioshock as the best, but I assume you already have that.

Some people like Mass Effect, it's not up my alley though...

To be honest, GTA IV is a pretty spectacular single player experience, although the story is somewhat lacking.

Bioshock, hands down.

It's a far better game in terms of atmosphere, and IMO Mass Effect tried to be a shooter, then an RPG, and it just ended up grating on me.

t doesn't have a particularly good story or character development, and I honestly don't know why they chose to go down the RPG route, and the combat is mediocre at best.

They should have specialised in one or the other, then it might have been good, but I didn't enjoy it.

I use my mic specifically to bait people who scream annoying, pointless orders or have voices at octaves higher than my mother.

Games tend to get boring online without that, unless I'm with friends, and it seems to entertain everybody else on my team.
