Thats awesome that the DLC is going to be free. Thats nice of valve to do that kind of thing is so unheard of nowadays.

You do realise it's only free because they're releasing exactly the same content for free on PC, and they want to break into the console market, as well as promote a friendly brand image. Plus, the DLC is basically just giving a more complete game. All modes for all maps, plus a survival mode that would have taken barely any time to write? Sounds to me like they hadn't finished the game when it was released, but wanted to meet a christmas release date. I'm not complaining, but they're hardly being 'nice...'

Actually, yes. In such a competitive market they need to put out fresh content, otherwise people will move on to something else or trade it in. Then we get to hear the developers whine over how the used game market is killing the industry...

Lanezy

You bought the GAME. You paid £30 for it.

Then you expect them to do more work to keep you after you've already paid???

No. I'm sorry, but that's lunacy.

Developers already make crap amounts of cash for anything that isn't shovelware, you can't expect them to do more, and free content being given after the games major sales period is not going to help them in a competetive market, particularly considering it's only available to people who have ALREADY GIVEN THEM MONEY.

Sort of. It really doesn't take too long to make a map. And some of them just aren't that good.

Lanezy

You have no idea.

It take WEEKS to make a map. Honestly, multiplayer maps are bloody difficult to balance, deck out, optimise, test - It isn't simply a case of throw a few polygons in here - Maybe a wall here.

You realise these maps are not only a detailed 3d environment, but a balanced test of player skills?

I'm speaking from experience here. Try making maps, and you'll see the same thing.

Well, some of my favourite gametypes in Halo 3 require me to download the new map packs, but I will give you this because thats the only game that I can think of where it actually hampers your gameplay experience.

Lanezy

...Except that the only playlists that require paid-for content are DLC specific.

Aren't the rest for free maps?

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but a developer releasing FREE EXTRA CONTENT after you buy the game is not a bad thing in my book.

I was just wondering whether there are actually US-specific downloads, other than demos, on the PSN store...

Specifically, FFVII.
I remember seeing it on a cIassic PS1 list on the PS3 for $6, yet I can't find it anywhere on my UK account - does anyone else know/could check, and is it worth having 2 accounts just in case?

I'm not trying to get it to work with the emulator specifically, just trying to assign the keyboard to the controller.

Alright, I've been searching around on the internet but I haven't found anything that really lets me do what I want...

I've got a 360 controller plugged into my PC, but what I want to do is assign keys to each button (including arrow keys to the analogue stick) - The reason I want to do this is because I'm trying to find a less finger killing way to control an emulator. But it seems all I can do is calibrate it, and only once I'm IN the game does the controller actually do anything - Not so good when I really just need to assign a couple of keys.

So... Anyone know how to do this?

No chance. But fortunately, Final Fantasy has sucked since 10, and now we have mistwalker instead.
