I would probably place games like Quake as being more influential than Halo due to their influence on the series that you're touting so heavily.

I think the Wii U will end up being a good leap above the PS3 and 360. It will probably win all the face offs until the next xbox and playstation come out.kalipekona
Which will be how long? Maybe two years? This kind of thinking furthers my point that the Wii U is its own generation.
Journey was simply amazing. The soundtrack properly translated emotion to me during the whole playthrough and the last part of the game is one of the few times that I've felt immensely strong feelings from the participation in any artistic or entertainment medium.
Another title would be both of the Trine games. The aesthetics just give me this sense of euphoria, bliss, and magic. The art design is hopelessly beautiful.
A third would be Odin Sphere, which might be the most beautiful experience I've ever had with a game. If you haven't tried it yet, you need to go back and do it. seriously, it's good.
"Noir" in the film context doesn't refer to a low-lighted setting, TC should at least google the term before he decides to make a thread on it.
Max Payne 3 is undoubtedly the best in the series. The previous two games were spectacular but there were some movement issues which I never felt like the controls were able to repair. In the latest title you can actually control Max properly and you at least have some idea of where you're generally going to land in shootdodge.
The podcast they made about it ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y7xk1_x8ko ) says that playing a save file from that point will give you the Extended Cut experience. I get the impression they made changes from that point on, not just the ending. Even if little ones.lx_theo
You're most likely right. However I feel that at this point the whole Mass Effect 3 ending debacle is so far in the past that I couldn't be bothered to replay three hours of gameplay for the "little changes".
I've lost all interest at this point. I can't be bothered to replay it anymore.
Note: Apparently downloading the patch will take you back to the Cerberus Station. So players are going to have to play through that and then the London levels again before seeing the extended ending.
Square needs to get on with it and actually start pushing development on Versus. I can safely say I speak for the majority of the fanbase when I say that I have no interest in revisiting the FFXIII storyline.
I've been having trouble logging in. I'll log and I'll get an error saying I need to change my password with no prompt, and then I'll automatically be signed out.
Oh look, another thread where TC tries to confine something to some tight, genre specific label.

Most big budget games at this point are infusing elements from various genres. You guys will argue about anything.
