This does bring back memories though. I remember when I was around age 6 or 7 and my friend used to bring over his Neo Geo. I always thought it was the coolest system ever, I enver owned one, it looked so alien like to me and I believe it used like floppy discs or something, but that was what I first played MK1 on. And it was fantastic.

My other thread on this was locked because apparantly gamespot doesnt like it when I speak my mind. This is a horrible idea and will only anger true fans. This is another way to scam money out of people who pay for a full product and get 85% of it. I am also willing to be that this will be a 200kb download that is already on the disc but jsut requires a file to unlock. And most people will eat this up like candy, just stimulating the process of DLC.

I can never get over how bad they have always made reptile look in the future MKs. Anything after MK II he just looked dumb. I know the game has a lot of ninjas already, but reptile to me just looks stupid otherwise. He should be a mandatory ninja, a fighting lizard is just stupid.

[QUOTE="NaveedLife"]

Just realizing that Smoke isnt in that list....:(. Noob Saibot is easily among the coolest ones right now for me, although I will try them all out.

Midnightshade29

Yeah, I loved playing Noob Siabot back in the day! MK has always been the greatest fighter ever! IMO... I couldn't stand Street Fighter back in the day and still can't stand it. I don't see the appeal as it has way less characters than MK, and it always seems very ridgid and easy to cheat. MK has always been very easy to play and fun to play, the graphics have always been stellar, and the controls fluid. All the Fatalites and latter babalities, anaimailtes, etc.. made the game great for replay. I remember MK 1, 2, and 3 on the Genesis was great but MK Trilogy on the PS1 was the all time greatest with the crap ton of characters and modes. Can't wait for this!!! F

ighters list of quality ..imo

Mortal kombat >>>>>> Soul Calibur >>>> Tekken >>>> Blaz Blue/Dark Stalkers >>> King of Fighters >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Street Fighter Yeah, you can tell I hate street fighter..lol

smoke is in the game...human smoke if i am not mistaken...doesnt look that great to me, kinda non threatening, but he is in there.

[QUOTE="El_Zo1212o"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]You just quoted a part that was completely wrong just to rub it in that the person is wrong?

That's really harsh

Jaysonguy

And how, precisely, is this 'wrong'? (I suggest you spend more time making sense and less time trying to be a smartass)

Devs do get paid more because of this, it goes directly towards them

Since the whole "online pass" system has started devs are able to give real numbers when dealing with users online and in turn have been compensated differently because of it.

So yeah, no idea why you quoted something that was clearly wrong

This is completely untrue. Unless the you have proof first hand that devs get the money from the online pass. In my experience as an audio tech/dev for the game industry I have not seen one cent extra as well as many of my fellow employees. Can you provide a link or proof that the money goes to the devs? Cause as far as I am concerned and what I have seen first hand...it goes to Bob's new Ferrari and Steve's new built in pool.

I do not think we are getting one. At least I havent heard any new news about it. I also cancelled my pre order anyway because of this online pass bs. I will not support any company that trys to rip off their customers, regardless if it affects me or not.

Childeater10

How is the online pass ripping you off? They basically want you to purchase the game brand new? Even if you purchased the game used the pass is only $5. Most places that would even sell the game used will probably sell it cheaper just because of that alone. I just think its funny this was brought back to the first page. Its not going away... Publishers aren't going to stop this. Look what they did with Homefront! They teased you with some 2 day pass crap and that was it. From the looks of it its only going to get worse.

It is $10. And it is principle. I know it is going to get worse, because people will buy these passes. I never said it will get better. I said I will not support companies that pull this BS.

[QUOTE="coasterguy65"]Here's another way to look at it. The online pass is the same as GM saying that if you buy a used car from someone out of the paper you will have to pay them a $1000 fee or they will disable some of the cars features. Sure you can physically own the car, but the A/C and the radio will no longer work with out that fee. To GM buying a used car means that you are not purchasing a new car, and are not paying the over paid assembly line worker for their work. They took the time to build the car, why should they not get paid again if you buy it used and save some money?

chasingmaynard

Why do people keep trying to compare this with cars? How would GM disable features? We don't have "cartags" to start cars, so they can't identify who is actually using the vehicle.

Maybe if the government mandated some system in vehicles in which we swipe our drivers licenses to start them, the tech would be there to only allow certain drivers for certain vehicles.

Hmmm.... Big brother, bring it on.

dude it's hypothetical...jeez man

What a scam this online pass is. I know people try to act like the developers are finally getting paid for used game sales, but realistically the only ones probably getting paid are the publishers like EA and Activision.

Here's my feeling about the whole situation. If 79 copies of a game were sold, the developer and publisher were already paid for those 79 copies. If John takes his one copy and sells it on eBay, and Eric buys it. There are still only 79 copies of the game out there. Hence only 79 copies at the most could be played online, so there is no additional demand on the servers for the game, and honestly no additional cost for the publisher. Did the availability of a used game keep Eric from buying a new game? Maybe, or maybe he would not have bought a new copy anyway since publisher "A" sold said game with a crappy online, and a 5 hour campaign for $60.

I could not have said it better myself. I am glad I am not the only one who is seeing through the lies. Devs do not see another cent anyway. It is the top shareholders and CEO's. All the AI, audio, visual programers and what have you are payed a salary or by the hour, not by DLC, online passes or how many games you sell. This is coming from someone who has worked in the audio industry for games.

I do not see this problem with used cars. What makes Devs so special? There have been used games since gaming came to be, and Devs are growing now more than ever, without these rules and online passes. If they do not like used games...make it ILLEGAL or stop crying about not being able to line your pockets.

airshocker

Used cars lose their value as soon as you drive them off the lot. There is no such comparison for used video games. They don't lose value. They don't need to make it illegal, they're just going to makie you buy an online pass if you buy it used.

lol you guys will think of anything to defend this money grubbing scheme. whatever man, if you want to pay more for less and for something that should be in the game for no extra cost then ok I guess. I for one don't so I will not support this whether I want the game or not. I hope all these devs go the way of enron and end up as sidewalk pizza. Anyone want to join my coupe?
