They want you to feel alone in the world battling with the others. While the "others" always being strangers. But what does that have to do with talking with your friends? It's like they are saying we can't talk with the people in the room with you while you play DS

I just played the beta and I think the graphics are ugly, especially the character models.

Most of the games in your sig look way worse. I think the game looks really good, even on console. The console beta looks like a PS1 game remastered in HD... It's hideous
So I just played a couple matches on the PS3 version and I have to say both versions look nearly identical so far with the exception of the PS3 version's increased amount of jaggies and popins.

I noticed the same exact things. I also thought some of the character models were lower in poly count as well.
Don't you just love when the buildings disappear and reappear? :P The textures are extremely low poly. And even some of the animations are "off".
So I've been playing the 360 version of the beta all day and it not only looks better but it also plays much better than BFBC2. I'm downloading the PS3 beta now to see how that one fares. I can't believe some peanut headed dingleberry actually said that BF3 is just an updated MOH but I guess that's my fault for listening to some special olympics reject. :PRockman999
You honestly think it looks better than bc2? The beta looks like a badly optimized PSP game! It's hideous!
