[QUOTE="ionusX"]oh yea i agree and yeah some games would be moar liek medium specifically alot of the more demanding third and first person games like crysis 1 & 2, shattered horizons, metro 2033, skyrim, and BF3 Of course some games are too demanding for even high end systems. Playing games at medium settings won't stop you from enjoying them one bit so if this is the best he can afford right then go for it in my opinion. Hold on I'm going to see if I can build something a little better. Damn! Thanks a lot for the quick feedback guys! If you could build something a little better that'd be awesome. I might save up to 800 or so. We'll see. But if this rig can run most games at medium settings at those resolutions, then I would have no problem with it for at least a few months. Would even 500 or 600 get me a pretty good build?[QUOTE="Grey_Eyed_Elf"]The build should do just fine at Medium to high settings on the majority of games at the resolution's of 1280x720,1366x768,1440x900,1280x1024. If you just need a PC to play games right now and your not fussed on playing them at 1920x1080 with all the settings on max then that setup will do fine for the next year or so playing at medium settings... till you can get a "monster PC". Personally I would just save the money and just wait till I can afford a PC for $800(you don't need anything more), buying a PC and then saving for a better seems counter productive. Grey_Eyed_Elf

Someone on Kotaku commented with this setup, and said for 300 dollars that this will play most AAA games with equal or better graphics than a console. He linked to this public wish list on Newegg of a nice little build, but do you guys think it'd run a lot of games at that price. I posted a build I was really looking into that was about 1300, and I still am going to invest in it sometime in the next few months (by the I bet some of the parts will be a little outdated) but is this build good enough to run most of the indie games and more beefy games like L4D2 and JC2? I had a lot of good feedback on the last post I had, so I hope to see some feedback.
IF this computer seems like a decent build for the time-being, I might just go ahead and get it until I can save up for the monster.

Nice final build i still would change the ram to the knigston ram Masenkoe posted, bu thats just me.pokemondude2012will do!
There it is. I think that's my new gaming rig very soon. Thank all of you for helping me out. I might be back on these forums when I start building it for some tips and tricks. Newegg has some pretty solid building tutorials, though, so I might just be okay for the build!
Oh word! Awesome. So I think I'll update the photo one last time, and that might just be the final configuration!Well you could always go with the i5-3570K like I suggested to save some money and still have Ivy Bridge.
Masenkoe
That processor will perform just as well for gaming and it will run alot cooler. but you wont be able to use the pcie 3.0 with the i5 2500k. you can still use the 670's without pcie 3.0 btw.[QUOTE="Masenkoe"]kingston>gskilpokemondude2012 why is that DDR3 you posted $70?! What?
Seriously I think the G.skill 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz for 46.99 would be better for the money, if you're gonna spend $70 at least get higher clocked ram.

This processor?

I don't think you'll really be able to overclock much without a K processor, but I wouldn't recommend LGA 2011. Better to go 1155 imo
i7-3770K
With AsRock Z77 Extreme4
And 670 FTW Edition ($20 more, better)
Would be a better route to go.

Would this processor be just as good?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
I'll update the top photo again, and see what you think about it.
dont change the processor the 2011 processors don't have a big enough performance gain to get them over the 1155 porcesoors to actually buy them. just get this motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130644
and then this operating system
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986
and then this ram for that motherbaord
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104255
and if you are willing to spend as much as you are on this pc I would upgrade your case to something better like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160
or this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139005
or maybe this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225
But you dont have to pick a new case if you are already set on that antec 900

Will I still be able to run the GTX 670 with those parts? And man! That white case is really friggin' sleek. Thanks.
Oh my god. Thanks so much for all the feedback! Alright. So I swapped out the motherboard for this one. The motherboard does have to support PCI Express Slot 3.0 for the GTX 670. I do believe. Please correct me if I am wrong, because I feel I have no idea what I'm talking about.
New Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138346
or a cheaper one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157282
It does look like I might have to swap out the processor as well. The sockets change from LGA 1155 to LGA 2011
New Processor:
Only one I could find that wasn't like 500 and up.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115229
Memory:
I downgraded the memory to 8gb, like all of you said!
New Graphics Card:
Then I went and looked for the best GTX 670, just like you guys said as well!

NOW! Does this look good? It came out to a little above 1400. But I'm willing to spend that much! I'll update the photo of the cart, with the prices, so you guys can see. On the hard drive, I might note whationusXsaid and get a hard drive off of Amazon. Then, I have to buy Windows 7. Which version should I buy? The 64-bit most definitely right? Thanks, again guys!
I'm building my first gaming machine, just like many others on the forum. Gonna join in among the PC ranks. I watched a video and did a little research on parts, what's required, and such. I was going to go for the Alienware x51, and decided that it's a rip-off. So. I put together a "cart" of parts and would like to know if it looks like a pretty solid gaming rig. I would like to be able to run Diablo III, Battelfield 3, Skyrim, potentially Crysis at max settings (Crysis as high as it can go, since it's a killer). And pretty much most games with ease. Lemme know if it's too much or too little, or just right! And elaborate, if you would please! Thank you!
