Since You've Been Gone!

Since you've been gone I thought about growing a mustache and decided I wasn't that old yet.

Since you've been gone I haven't missed any of my favorite shows BECAUSE NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN ON!!!

Since you've been gone I learned to play the guitar again, fell in love again, lost interest in guitar again, and got dumped...again.

Since you've been gone I think I must have quoted Battlestar Galactica 1000 times. People get very confused when a drunk guy walks up and asks if they want to frak behind the dumpster. A select few think its pretty funny, a great majority beat me up behind the dumpster. I don't think they had the meaning down.

Since you've been gone i learned to make running a part of my lifestyle again, then I lost interest in running again, and now I'm just a fat man with really skinny legs.

Since you've been gone I tried to combine my 2 new hobbies and my one old one, running on a treadmill, playing guitar, and being a drunken idiot.

Since you've been gone I've gotten into alot of new bands. Welcome Cursive, Band of Horses, The Shins, The Postal Service, Iron & Wine, The Arcade Fire, Minus the Bear, and a few others. Thankyou for helping me realize the radio is the devil and that I need to grow a beard and smoke weed.

Since you've been gone Tavaris Jackson has been demoted to clipboard holder and Gus Frerotte is the new leader of my favorite Minnesota Vikings. We're comin! Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear!

Since you've been gone I managed to catch the first two episodes of Heroes and while I think they are struggling to figure out where they're going with the series at times, this new season looks much better than the last. Although I will say I enjoyed Hiro's storyline and I like the blonde bad guy. What happened to him again?

Since you've been gone, not only did I not catch up on the latest fashions, I actually got worse - much, much, worse!

Since you've been gone I actually fell for a junkmail advertisement. I thought it was someone from highschool. It was not and I also highly doubt that she just wants to meet new people and has main interests in partying and just having a good time. I feel like an idiot but have gained a common talking point with other idiots across the globe. Way to make lemonade Mark!

Since you've been gone the economy has turned for the worst! If I had any money to invest I would probably care more.

What have you been doing since I've been gone?

Hello?....

Hi!

I haven't been around for a really really really long time! For anybody that might actually remember me I started a new job about three months ago and haven't been on here since.

So how are things going around here. Anything interesting happening?

Anyone actually remember me?

Well, if not, hello new faces!:D

Causin Trouble

I start my new job on Monday and my wife is out of town for the whole weekend. I will be causing trouble. Don't worry, it will be very orderly trouble, but trouble none the less...First I will study before trouble. Then I will take a short nap - as trouble can be very tiresome. But after that - and after I brush my teeth and take my vitamins and do proper calisthenics...there will be trouble. I will not be out past curfew...as this makes my wife very angry, but until then there will be trouble. Also, I will not go out until 10 as to make sure I don't overdo it before I go home, BUT within this unholy window of a couple hours I will cause what I like to call 'concentrated' trouble - as my trouble-causing time is very limited. As I must be very efficient with my trouble causing time I will not drink as this takes away from my focusing abilities for which I need to cause trouble. And, I cannot meet my friends tonight as they will only distract me from my trouble-causing priority. As my doctor recommends, I will not go to the bar to cause trouble as this troubles my athsma, which causes me trouble. SO TONIGHT! - I will stay home, lie in bed the whole night, and watch a movie about causing trouble. eeeeeeh

I feel very small yet very devious!

SVU: The College Years!

Eureka

I finished watching Eureka! There were only two seasons so I guess it wasn't really that much. It was a pretty enjoyable show. I'm excited to see what they do next season. On to the next show I'm really into right now!!!

Which is...

Law & Order SVU

I decided I would start watching Law & Order SVU from the beginning...Wow - there's 9 seasons already?! And they're all like 24 episodes long! I'm currently on episode 1X07 'Uncivilized.' This could possibly save me from the new show-less summer we are already in.

Its kinda fun to start from the beginning. I don't know that I've seen anything before season 6 so it should be pretty interesting. For example, there are a few characters in there that I had no idea had anything to do with the show.

BSG

The other night I was in my bathroom injecting BSG into my veins when my wife walked in on me. I screamed, "It's not what you think!!!" In stories like this you usually next hear how she packed up her bags and left me and I ended stealing purses to score more Battlestar Galactica. This wasn't the case. I haven't made her a true believer in the show but she has accepted my addiction to the show. We are going to start attending meetings next week so I don't get into anything else while I have to wait TILL 2009?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for more BSG.

I have to make a case to all of you just how serious this can be. BSG addiction can lead to high levels of overdoses across the globe around mid-season finale time. Season finales are even worse and are sometimes described as disasterous. Series finales can lead to no doubt epidemic proportions of BSG ODs.

As it turns out, it wasn't what my wife thought. It really is the best drama on television!!! :o

UHOH!...MovieTome REALLY IS done...

As you may have already noticed, at the top and bottom of the whichever site you're on Movietome is no longer listed. I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that's a sign that CNET has called Hospice on Movietome.

Not much of a pulse anymore. Sleepin with the fishes. Kicked the bucket. Bought the farm. Facing the firing squad. Aaaah...burnt the toast? Traded on margins for too long? Dropped out of college? Road the wooden roller-coaster? Didn't bet on black in a Wesley Snipes film? Went the way of the buffalo! Got trumped. Took a dive. Went in the red. Bet on the wrong horse. Went to that big blogosphere in the sky. Went skydiving without a parachute. Went scubadiving without an oxygen tank. Went traveling abroad without a VISA? Got traded to the Royals. Got traded to the Dolphins! (sorry Dolphins fans, not sorry Royals fans!) Broke down on the ol' information superhighway. Worked at Enron! Went the way of HD DVD! (its downfall was that it sounded stupid when you said it...) It said that Matrix II & III couldn't possibly be worse than the first! Didn't like the smell of freshly cut grass? Worked in an office building that was insulated with asbsetos? It fought the law and the law won. Played the bad guy in any Bond film ever made... Played any father on Law & Order SVU. Didn't store nuts for the winter. Stored too many nuts on an episode of Law & Order SVU. Played a side character on Star Trek and went down to the planet with Kirk and the gang! (big mistake) The pots came back empty on Deadliest Catch. It followed Lock on Lost. You faced the monster on lost and you weren't Lock or dreaming... It was boring as Season 2 of Lost. It yelled back at Chef Ramsey on Hell's Kitchen. It didn't have a six-pack on Shot at Love II. It slept with Bret too early in the show on Rock of Love II. It had a raspy voice in any cartoon during the 70s or 80s or 90s. Donald Trump wasn't attracted to your power on The Apprentice. Your partner was attracted to you on Beauty & the Geek. It couldn't let go of your quest for power at the end of any Indiana Jones movie. It was a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings! Its dead in the water! The water in any horror movie its in just turned to blood and you're not the attractive but intelligent blonde main character. You have carnal relations with anyone early on in any horror movie. Takashi Miike is directing the film its in. (You're bound to die no matter who you are...) It has anything to do with any film Uwe Boll has ever made ever. It was a clever sitcom and the network its on is Fox. It is its last day on the force and it has a wife and two kids. Its getting too old for this... Vin Diesel thought it sounded like it was good idea for a movie. It was a sports car in a Michael Bay movie and it didn't transform into anything else!

Goodbye my old friend. Good luck in that big blogosphere in the sky. I'm sure whatever God is runnin this fiasco watches movies too...

Got Ma Job!

Hello everyone! I haven't really been around much lately. I've been trying to get as much done as possible and have been trying not to spend to much free time.

Microsoft

Starting Monday, I am an employee at Microsoft! I am just blown away about this. I had the least experience of anyone they interviewed and I still ended up with the job! :D I still can't believe it. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to everybody for being so supportive after I thought I bombed the interviews! lol  Apparantly it wasn't that bad...

The Happening

So I've went to The Hulk, Kung Fu Panda, Don't Mess With the Zohan, and The Happening lately. Yeah, I didn't really limit my free time that much I guess! Out of all of them The Happening stuck in my head for some reason. I just wasn't sure what to think of it. I kinda liked it but at the same time I like anything that has an apocalyptic/huge event-kinda theme. But - when I was watching it, I just knew that no one else was going to. Shymalan's movies do get a little cheezy, I admit that. But it goes along with his styIe alright. The movie was good and bad. I still can't make up my mind about it. I would definitely watch it again.

I felt that he went to more of a graphic horror movie to show that he wasn't as cookie-cutter as the critics think he is. I definitely think he gets too motivated by what the critics think. I think thats too bad.

I guess my point is that other horror movie directors make awful movies a lot of time but they don't get tore into like Shymalan gets. I think they just he got put on such a higher level after he did The Sixth Sense and they compare everything he does to that. If you are capable of enjoying a low-budget, badly edited, cheezy horror flick; then you definitely might like this one. Its enjoyable, just don't expect The Sixth Sense. Overall, I haven't liked everything he's done but I'm definitely glad he's making movies. I would watch this movie again.

Enough With The Twists!

One other thing...because of The Sixth Sense, we have seen dozens of movies with the good guy ending up having a split-personality. Oh! - and of course he was also the killer! That IS annoying. After The Sixth Sense, I almost OD'ed on twist endings over the last decade...By the way - how that happens is a shutdown of the nervous system from over-cringing at crappy twist endings that waste 90 minutes over your life.

Seriously - just how many twist ending have you seen in the last 10 years? How many of them did you enjoy?

Thats enough from me. If you haven't nodded off at this point already, its good talking to you again (ahead of time).

See ya around!

Abandoned MovieTome

MovieTome Done For?

I didn't really think it was going to get worse but it did. I haven't checked the forums on MovieTome for about a week and I checked them today. There were about 3 new posts?! At the bottom of the screen I'm looking at the Coming Soon section and its listing movies that are out in theaters right now?! There haven't been any posts in the Breaking News Section which was the consolation from them after saying submissions were 'temporarily' not allowed. There have been know messages of any kind from anyone associated with the site. In fact, there haven't been much of any messages from anyone?!

My Theory

I honestly just think they're letting MovieTome die out so no one really minds when they shut it down eventually. - Just making sure they don't lose any membership from connected sites. I could be wrong I guess. It just doesn't seem like they're making any effort at all anymore...

All-Nighter

Hello! - Not much to report I guess. Just wanted to waste you time! I layed down in bed for about a half hour last night then I ended up pulling an all-nighter. - Just a tad nervous to hear back about that job interview I guess...and I didn't hear back yet, but no prob - wasn't expecting to until about mid-week anyway.

Old Shows

I was just going through the lists of most popular shows for each genre on Tv.com and saw a bunch of old shows that I used to love!

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Zorro

Magnum P.I.

War of the Worlds

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

G.I. Joe

Transformers

The list goes on...I definitely didn't need to spend that much time just reminiscing about old shows but I found a lot I forgot about!

I've decided that I'm going to go on a Mystery Science Theater 3000 bender! I love that show and there are a ton of episodes I've never seen!

Yes, I do realize that if I see every episode of MST3K in existence that I transend to a higher level of geeky enlightenment. I once heard of a guy that watched every episode in existence back to back - he fell asleep halfway through the last episode and woke up with horn-rimmed glasses and a Darth Maul teeshirt on! And he never took them off EVER AGAIN!...:o Yes folks, those were my highschool days? Ok, not quite, or maybe I'm lying? I suppose you'll never know! Muhuhahahaha!

Alright - I know the evil laugh is overdone. I'll quit.

Teeshirt Machine

One last random thought - I knew a guy that was going to school for graphic design. He had some sort of printer at home that he could design the logo or get it off the internet and then print it off as a teeshirt iron-on (decal?). You know - the plastic part of the teeshirt that has the writing on it. He used to make teeshirts with anything he wanted on it!

I want one of these things! I would probably make a G.I. Joe teeshirt. A Magnum P.I. teeshirt! How great is that?!

Gotta go! Goodbye?

Just watching TV...

Eureka

Just finished the first season of Eureka about 5 minutes ago. It wasn't a bad show. Its pretty light for the most part but I like it. I'll have to get into season 2 pretty soon here...It was at least a pretty good show to throw in while I ironed my shirts (which I loathe doing). I'm pretty excited to see where they go with the different story lines in the next season, probably tomorrow. :D

Kung Fu Panda

Ok, I have to admit, Jack Black has done nothing but annoy me lately. I used to like him but now I just don't see him being very funny these days. I went to dinner and a movie with the wife tonight and we saw Kung Fu Panda. It was actually really good! I enjoyed the action. I enjoyed the jokes. I enjoyed the animation. There was nothing I didn't like about it. I was really surprised!

Battlestar Galactica

Wow, this show is getting crazy again! I thought the first part of this season was pretty boring (don't tell anyone!) Now I see why they had to work all that story line in! The plots are really developing along nicely again. There was also some very cool effects in this one as well which they've been pretty sparing with as of late...I'm excited for the last half of the season but I'll be sad to see it go! Well, I guess that's about it for right now. Cya around?

30th Blog Entry!

Bob Lablaw Law Blog and the New Well-Read Me!

Its amazing to me that I actually managed to write 30 blogs in just over two months. My life is boring and I have to admit I'm not exactly interesting. Today I'm ironing shirts and watching 'Eureka.' Wow! (I'm on episode 1X06 btw. Pretty good so far. I'm curious to see where they go with this...) I'm not really sure if I should celebrate or collapse naked into a cold shower and rock back and forth crying and shaking all the while (too much?). Its funny to think for every 30 or so of me there is one person who will actually get off his butt and go find a way to make his life interesting. And, For every 30 or so of them, there's probably one or two who don't get arrested for it. Ahh, to be daring.

The New Me: Step One

So, as a compromise, seeing as I don't wish to get arrested or depressed, I've decided to dimly and weakly spice up my life in the usual wussy fashion that I have lulled myself to sleep with over that past few years. First off, I now quote things! The problem with this is I only really know TV and movie quotes, which I already do quote, which apparently makes me look more like a loser...lol My obvious answer is to this dilemna is to quote movies that were based on books or historical events! Or, what the hell, books based on historical events! My goal for tomorrow is to quote Tombstone at least 5 times and at least 5 quotes based on any movie that emulated the Roman Empire or anything related. "Ok, your gas will be 45 dollars even." "Et tu Brute?" See?! Look how smart I look! I'll be amazed if she even charges me for gas in this situation! And if she just calls the cops instead, think of how many Tombstone quotes I can fit in! Now thats what I call up the creak in styIe.

The New Me: Step Two!

I have added an exclamation point to emphasize my point further, that point being: I am going to start talking how I write online! One way of doing this is adding exclamation points - way too much! Also - execessive and dramatic pauses can be more than expected throughout any daily conversation... To replace emoticons, I've decided to hold a dramatic face for two seconds after every paragraph! :D However much this offsets or disturbs anyone will most likely be overshadowed by a general concern for my mental well-being! Thus, completely negated any negative effects this could possibly have!

This blog is Part 1 of 2. Stay tuned for Part 2: Crazy People Still Have to Pay for Gas (Contact your Online Mental Healthcare Provider for more information on Emoticon Psychosis.)
