My OG Xbox died just as I started Shenmue II for the first time, and then right after that happened these ports got announced. So I'm excited to finally play through Shenmue II! And then of course III!
I could see why. Fixing Cable's time travel device and resurrecting Vanessa undoes Cable's sacrifice and the entire point of the movie. But killing "Baraka-pool" more than made up for it.
I'm all for more variation in the types of stories told in games, and I'm definitely all for more female focused/written stories. Unfortunately, I haven't been too impressed with Rhianna Pratchett's writing. I enjoy the new Tomb Raider series but the writing is by far the weakest part. And it's a shame too, considering her lineage. And I do NOT want to see an old bitter battle-hardened Lara. At that point, why even call her Lara Croft? Other than to capitalize on brand recognition? Make a new character in a new franchise about some old bitter battle-hardened mother character, make the game good, and I'll get it. You are allowed to create new things, you know. Horizon showed us that.
This is one of the best 2D platformers ever made. I'm glad Gamespot finally deemed the game worthy. The Wii U version got a 6, and though I understand the concept of opinions, a 6 for this game is just plain incorrect.
@og_gamerzzz: God of War and DK:TF are two totally different experiences. And it happens to be one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played. This is easily a 9. It's OK if you don't care for the genre. I hate first person shooters, doesn't mean some first person shooters don't deserve high scores.
