"Already, the movie has about ten times the plot of the Rampage arcade game"
OK, so, in the game, you play as one of the three monsters. But here's the thing. The monsters are actually humans who were experimented on and got transformed by SCUM Labs. So now they are traveling the globe, bringing chaos and destruction, trying to find and destroy all of SCUM Labs. The monsters are the protagonists.
And that sounds infinitely more interesting than, "Guy is friends with gorilla, but the gorilla gets big and now guy needs to stop gorilla." I mean, I know Rampage isn't exactly known for its deep story, but this is just another case of "looking at game and making up a new story that kinda looks like the game without actually acknowledging anything about the game."
He went from writing, directing, and starring in a new Batman film to doing none of those things and also looking for a way out. Hollywood sounds fun! Anyway, I'm sure Flashpoint will rewrite everything anyway.
@kylexile: Well if it's in the extended cut, then it's not a deleted scene. I actually saw the extended cut, but I don't remember every little detail in it. It helps to explain the first half of the movie, which is nice, but it also makes the movie 3 hours long, and it's not that good to begin with, so that's bad.
