So, is this going to be like the NES Classic and the SNES classic? Not third party and very well done? Or more like the Genesis ones, made by third parties and terrible?
Single player games last forever. Multiplayer games have a limited life expectancy. I can go play FF X or whichever one right now, and experience everything it has to offer. What about FF XI? And even XIV? Some day those games will be unplayable. And they're already completely different than when they first came out. Making a game multiplayer focused means that someday it's going to die. But, you know, who cares I guess? Why make a game that is bought once and that's it, when you can make a game and keep charging people money until they get bored, then move on to another project? Everything now feels so disposable. Nobody cares about making something that lasts. Nobody cares about being remembered.
...Uhh, so anyway, FF XVI being a multiplayer shooter confirmed.
