Cartridges are far superior to discs. Sure, discs used to have more storage space, but that's not true anymore. With carts, you can cut down on loading times and save space, since you most likely wouldn't have to install the game to the system, you just plug it in. Game saves would probably appear on the games themselves, so we can go back to taking games to friends' houses to play, without having to worry about transferring over saves. Patches would potentially be saved on the carts too. I just see so much potential with going back to cartridges. The only real downside is cost, but we'll see what happens.
Of course, until I hear anything from Nintendo, I don't believe rumors, but from a speculative standpoint, I like what I'm hearing here.
