Hey, i'm not a lemming nor am i trying to do damage control

but this guy is attually right. Think about it for one second. Why do you think microsoft and sony make consoles that cost more to make than they sell it? Its nearly impossible for them to make a profit off of it. For any developer of a game, it cost moeny to put the game on all the platforms. To put a game on their consoles the developer has to pay sony/m$/nintendo and give the company a money value for each game sold.

Example: Say Microsoft charges 5 bucks per game sold to put a ubisoft game on their platform. Ubisoft makes sells a million copies of that game. 5 dollars of each game sold must be given to mircosoft to put the game on their platform.

This is how sony/microsoft still make money. Nintendo does this AND has a console that gives them a profit off of game.

Mircosoft and Sony make very little to no money on selling consoles.

The money they make is based of the games. It costs a developer a money to produce a game on a console, and for every copy of that game that sells, they make a small bit of money.

That money does add up when you have a game that has had success like halo or gears for the xbox you make loads of money. And i'm sure games that Mircosoft of sony attually help produce, makes more money.

thats why sony and mircosoft can sell their consoles below what it costs to manufacture.

Nintendo is a diffrent stoy with them selling their console above the manufactureing cost. They use cheep parts (when i say cheep don't get think i mean bad) and are able to make money. Thats why nintendo is still around today. Gamecube didn't do as well as the xbox 1 nor the ps2, but can still hang in and hang in well because they made a profit of of there consoles, microsoft and sony make profit of the game.

Ok, well I'll start with prices. Yes, the PS3 is a bit pricey but it's not a mind-blowing grand and it's worth every penny you pay for. I APOLOGIZE completely about the prices, I don't really know everything so please don't get mad at me. I'm pretty sure the prices are close and won't make much of a difference in the end. Here's a list of rough estimates in American dollars:

Far Cry required 5 or 6 disks, as did KOTOR, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, and Diablo 2 required 3 disks.

The game will be a pain to install, though I doubt your computer would be able to read the Blu-Ray disks.

Not saying it's needed, but it would sure make things a lot less annoying.

Most games now are comming out on dvds. Pc games have just NOW started to need cds.

I persnally don't know what you guys are talking about with the needing of blu-ray

Just because you have a game, that is on a dvd, doesn't mean it fills up the dvd. STALKER, a openended huge game only take roughtly 2 gigs up on my pc. 

Crysis will praobly need 3-4 gigs of pc room, and mods aren't that big, or needed, so maybe for the hardcore people only 1 more gig.

Shoot people, the only reason why FFXIII needs blu-ray is so you have a game thats filled with 3gigs of game plays, 10 gigs of cutscenes

2. can i still play team slayer and team snipers without the new maps?

3. are they going to do this w halo 3 where we would have to pay for map content which i dont care about because i will play if i have too cuz its halo 3 ya boi!!!
