@kyle_key: Breath of the Wild is one of the, if not the best game of this generation still. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Gamespot only grades on the whole scale, if they could, this would probably be a 9.5 or 9.7.

Every game has flaws, including BoTW, but I wouldn't doubt for a second that it's the superior game overall.

@skektek: Horizone Zero Dawn doesn't even look close to as good as this game does on a high-end PC, but it looks good don't get me wrong. This video is a terrible representation.

@uzi9mm: Game looks a lot better at higher resolutions on a PC, videos don't do it justice. You have to see the game in-person. Just trust me that it's not like "night and day" but is for sure noticeable and probably worth the investment in a PC if you like graphics.

@kobeandodom: The weapon durability issue is so overblown. Like yeah, they break often and easily, this should make you play the game differently. View every weapon as expendable no matter how good it is. Run out of weapons? Use bombs, arrows or stasis abilities to defeat your enemies. Most enemy camps have plenty of creative ways to use the environment to your advantage. Use your mind.

I actually find the bloat of most open world type games to be annoying, putting in random quests and missions just to have a bunch of markers on the map seems silly. You also can get the master sword that never breaks, but works on a charge system. Funny you say you loved Ocarina, because it's the best Zelda game since then IMO, or at least since Twilight Princess. I think the way it makes you play differently, makes it better than Twilight though.

Funny you haven't liked a Zelda game since those times, TP was basically an improved version of Ocarina of Time, with the same systems just biggers and better everything. I think it's two factors, nostalgia and familiarity that make you dislike a game like TP. BOTW does not stick to the tried and true Zelda formula and that's what makes it so good.

@7tizz: Pretty lame you list two XBOX games as game of the year with XBOX flair and then heavily criticize BOTW, bias much??

BOTW is a better game for most than any game to come out from Microsoft probably since Halo 2. Can you name a better single-player exclusive franchise from Xbox? It's certainly not Gears of War (I own the most recent one on PC, it's OK).

It seems like you are bending over backwards to list Xbox games as game of the year, but why? I own a PC and readily admit Super Mario Odyssey and BOTW are better than any single-player titles released on it, and that includes Divinity Original Sin 2 and XCOM 2 expansion, both of which are arguably better than Cuphead.

PubG is a decent multiplayer game, it has been done before with H1Z1, but I guess it blew up the genre, it performs poorly on PC and is essentially unplayable on Xbox One, so pretty lame you picked it as well.

I just am unsure why you are so obsessed with xbox you can't even think straight.

@djezhel619: Yep, I am a PC only gamer and just bought a switch, not sure why I would ever get LA Noire for switch though. I am more disappointed they are not updating the PC version as I own it and it is now inferior to the xbox one and ps4 versions.

@legendaryh1tman: Sure, but it is also simple math that if every game was on multiplatform it would sell more copies. A game like Bloodborne, would sell MILLIONS more if it was multiplat, that is better for the developers. The only companies exclusives help are Sony and Microsoft, it doesn't help the developers at all if revenue is their concern.

Sony keeps developers like Naughty Dog fat and healthy, but they would probably be better off developing multiplatform games.

Consoles were created before PCs were as good as they are now. Just five years ago, PCs were a hassle in the living room, now it's just as easy as consoles. Developers make the most money making their game available to the biggest pool of people, in general.

I mean how can you say PC is bad for developers? It is pretty much the only platform indie developers and small studios can break into. Games like PuBG, DOTA, Minecraft, and CSGO all had their humble beginnings on the PC and look where they are now. Do you think a game like Divinity Original Sin would be created if PC wasn't around?

It's looked this good on PC for like 2 years. Oh well. Why does there need to be console competition? Have one platform, Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo make games for it and that's how you get your revenue.

All the different consoles are only sold because of the exclusive games that they have, nobody really cares about graphics (although all the fanboys seem to act like they do). Microsoft lost this gen because of bad PR and bad exclusive games, PERIOD.

The industry would be so much better if there were no consoles, you just get a PC. They could have (they already have steam machines) premade plug and play PCs that are just like the current consoles. They would never have to scale down the graphics developed for different systems, everything would just be a PC game and the competition would just come from whether you can make a good game or not. The irony is the competition already is: who can make the best games? It is just locked behind an arbitrary hardware wall.

I don't really care about them having their own hardware, but to lock games behind it hurts everyone. It hurts developer sales, it hurts consumers because they have to buy your system just to play the game they want. One game or 5 games are not worth the investment into a console, it just isn't. I would rather not experience it, and that's a shame.

@ray1102: Much different time now. They literally would be throwing millions of dollars down the drain not coming to PC. GTA V sold like 10 million on the PC at least. It will come to PC, we just will have to wait.

@totallytc: Hmm, I can see why people want a likable character, but why does he have to be a minority to be likable? I don't understand the current trend in 2017-18, where anytime a white person is the main character or potentially demonstrated in a positive light, there is this tension.

Look at it like this: a game where the protagonist will kill untold amounts of people, like in every GTA game. You can still empathize with a criminal. Who should have been the character, a Native American? An African American (just LOL at that one)?

I could see a Mexican American fitting the storyline, I suppose. The question is WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE FOCUSED ON MINORITIES. If it's not focused on minorities these days it's racist. Like, give me a break.
