Truthfully, I think the Videogame industry has enough players as it is. EA wouldn't dream of making their own console, simply because... why focus on your products on one console when you have all three at your disposal, even with the royalty fees.

Apple... I don't know, they aren't really focused with the gaming industry and Google... they only compete with Microsoft on the Internet side of things. Sega making a come back...I can't imagine they would have the resources to do that and besides, same logic applies to EA...Sega are making more money than ever before because they're focused on the 3 consoles.

I don't think publishers are also keen on having another console manufactorer as it is becoming more and more harder for independent developers and publishers to make profit, especially when you do have the bigger companies either bankrupting them or buying them out.

Also, the way the industry is moving forward today, it's all about mass profit, videogames in some way are being marketed as a drug rather than entertainment. Almost every month, there is a major release which we have to buy. Take last year, in August we had Bioshock, in September, we had Halo, October was Assasin's Creed, November was call Of Duty and Mass Effect.... and all of this is on one system, not to mention other big titles like Eternal Sonata.

I've got all these titles and I've only played Eternal Sonata for 5 minutes, Mass Effect for about an hour....Halo for about 10 hours maybe and Bioshock for about 15 hours... we're buying games left right and center and not even taking the time to get the entertainment value out of it and all of this is just on the one system...
