I doubt it. GameSpot already decided that all Wii games aren't good enough to get an editors choice award.

Interested in the top 3 games. But how can you say there back? Sure, they make great first party games, in fact, there my favorite first part developer ever. But they refuse to catch up to the modern standards of HD. They are 5 years in the past, and refuse to catch up to the future, by catering to non-gamers instead of hardcore fans. There's a reason why there's a crap load of mini game shovelware in the wii. It's because so many non-gamers play the damn system, that they would by anything as long as it looks somewhat fun. But alot of the times, these games are crap. I refuse to back a company that would rather cater to an outside audience then to focus on there fanbase. People always make the argument that they have never left there dedicated fan base. And for that, I call bull. Sure, they release there own first party games, but they would be doing that even without an outside market. Let's say they just made an upgraded gamecube with no motion controls, they would still be making a game like Super Mario Galaxy, because that's what Nintendo does, they make great games for there systems. I was a long time supporter of Nintendo. I owned a Super Nintendo before I could walk, I was one of the first to own an N64, and I sure as hell loved my gamecube. And yes, I bought a Wii when it came out. Then, I got a 360 and it blew me away. The amount of good, consistent games you get on that thing is crazy. And then I bought a PS3, and now I can play almost any game I want. I would rather take 10 great games a year on the PS3 and 360 then wait around 2 years to see the next taste of Mario, Metroid and Zelda. And for those who say that there is a lot of third party support, you've got to be kidding me. Look at the amount of great third party games exclusive to the 360 and PS3. Both of those systems hold 10 times as many great third party games. I always supported the argument that with sales, would come third party support. And it has. Just the shovelware kind. twice as much third party games, 95% of it being awful. I'm sorry, but Nintendo deserves to lose this generation. They have become all flash and no substance with there motion controls. I can't wait till MS and Sony bring out there own motion control stuff, and leave the non-HD, short life, pathetic excuse of a system Nintendo has given us in the dust.luigigreen

If the Wii is behind why are THE GRAFIX consoles trying to catch up to it?

2009 was quite disappointing.. only one game that I was interested in and that was it. My Wii did not get a lot of Playtime besides the Brawl and Mario Kart Casuals. My DS lies somewhere I dunno... But 2010 looks awesome.. I will get Galaxy 2, Other M for sure. No More Heroes 2 is also one of my most wanted games. My DS will get a nice time with Pocemans and Golden Sun x333 And wow.. Zelda too. This makes up for 2009 being a very crappy year.Shoooryuken

Your eyes must have been closed the whole year.

Coz third parties don't want to develop for it.

Seriously. And the motion control threat from the other consoles. MS is gonna market the **** out of Natal, you'd be silly to think they won't get some casual fitness games to sell it, heck they're even having RARE develop games strictly for Natal.

Fact is, what large third party titles are coming to Wii this fall? Maybe DQ10? MH3 comes in april.

I fear 2011 will be for Wii third party games what 2005/2006 was for third party Cube games

But i will wait and see, although nintendo alwaysreplaces consoles while on top ahead of their time, they just do

i'd say since Nintendo has said they like the PS3/PS2 approach we'll see Wii 2 in fall 2011 with some nice titles while riding Wii 1 software, Wii 2 for $250 and Wii 1 for $150 in fall 2011 and the years after

darth-pyschosis

That is a ridiculous statement because the GameCube lost his momentum half way through 2004 but the Wii is gaining an insane amount of momentum in 2010. The third parties that are stinking with the Wii just figured out how to use the Wii. If the so called Wii 2 was coming out at all wouldn't there have been a new Nintendo handheld game console that came out a year ago to hold the trend?

new systems can come out as soon as nowbut it would only be an advantage to the DS as it is the most dated tech. a new wii in 2011 and a new psp in 2011 would be great a new box 2012 would be nice and a new ps in 2014 would be perfect. there is no need to align system launches with each other. by stagering the releases more people would own multi systems. by launching them at the same time it makes people choose which system they want while neglecting others. the wii has been maxed the ds has been maxed the box still has legs however they are old and tired. the ps3 has not even launced all its biggest franch yet so that system still has a way to go.

chicagodon

How would killing off the DS give an advantage to the DS when it already has the potential to outsell and out live the the PS2 while at the same time continue to print money for Nintendo?

Well, alot of ppl here have all 3 consoles. I prefer to have 1 (2 at max) consoles each gen and get a new generation one after 5 or 6 years. It also helps the technological evolution since its a fact consoles are holding down PCs :P

Still, i agree with the second part of your post. This genĀ“s console games still look incredible. I think 360 and PS3 are more future proof than we thought at the beggining

PAL360

How is it even possible that consoles are holding back PCs? You can't program, write databases or draw pictures on consoles but that hasn't stopped PCs.

Moreover, the Wii's huge success has proven that the market isn't single-mindedly obsessed with better graphics. MS and Sony are positioning their motion controllers to effectively be the next-gen Wii HD -- that is, you'll get the graphical fidelity and gameplay complexity made possible by their superior hardware, with the motion control scheme of Nintendo's system. In a way, these peripherals ARE the next generation. And you should expect the 360/Natal and PS3/Arc combo to be those company's primary console for at least 4 years.misiufraggle

This is exactly why I think Nintendo WILL release a new console. Once Natal and Arc are out, there will be two machines on the market that can do motion control like the Wii, but with HD that the Wii lacks. Nintendo will have to launch something new at this point, or risk losing the initiative.

If Nintendo was going to release an new console why would they copy their opponents when they are stumbling over themselves keeping up with you. What Nintendo needs to do is go two trends ahead or sit on this and watch their opponents beg for a reprieve and counter their next move.
