i really need a bod here lol ive brought my pc about a year ago from Overclockers.co.uk which has the overclocked preinstalled so evertime i start up from the hard disk the overclocked should be there and now everytime i start upits not overclocked any more its back to its normal clocking speed any suggestions? i did have an error but was so fast didnt manage to read itbe4 that it did cause random lockups
Overclocking is still done through the BIOS primarily, as far as I know. It loads before your OS, before any of yours disks are even accessed. so there's where to look. It sounds strange that you'd experience problems if it has actually somehow reverted to factory settings. Unless there's something wrong with the CPU. Still, it shouldn't just "revert" unless the battery on the motherboard is empty.
Your bios can revert into a "Safe Mode" in order to stop the cpu or ram from getting fried. If it enters this "Safe Mode" it will seem as though your overclock settings have been reset.Yes its a medionWant2Gameif you dont really care about the warrenty you can install a card yourself. If you do care about the warrenty than you need to take your computer to your local retailer or repari shop and see if they can have a certified tech install a card for you. I all depends on how much you want to spend and how big your power supply is. Im not that familiar with Medio but I would guess that you have between a 250 and 350 watt power supply. The reason that this is important is because differnt cards require more power to function. An easy way to look at this is typically the higher the performance of the card the more powere that it will require. The best thing to do would be to both upgrade your video card and your power supply. Reason is because lets say you get a video card and that card requires a 300 watt power supply and that is what you have than you seriously risk shortin out your video card or worse yet your enitre system. Dont ever skimp on the power supply department, it will only come back to bite you. Another sudgesstion that I have is if you have just recently bought the computer return it, get your money back, and build your own. Its really not that hard and you will more than likely be spending the same amount of money but be getting much better quilty for parts.
no it wontNSR34GTRsure it will. your bios will down clock differnt memory to match clocks of other memory. you cant have 2 differnt voltages and clocks for your ram.
Its from a retailer :( Want2Gamewhere did you buy it from? make and model of the pc would be much appriciated. I got a it from a store called ALDI what is the model number and manufacturer of the pc? is it a medion?
[QUOTE="C2C_Moltar"][QUOTE="Want2Game"]How can i check that :P?Want2Gameif you open the side of your case there should be a tag on your power supply that lables what the wattage is. Is your computer custome built or from a retailer? if it is from a retailer opening the case can void your warrenty.
