It totally depends, there are some games which you cannot possibly play sitting down, for me that's Wii Sports, Guitar Hero 3 etc etc and those you sit down for, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy.
My first RTS and personal favourite and recommendation, even though its a little old now, Age of Empires 2, It was just so fun and the best in the series by far, I never liked AOE3 :/
