Hey,

I'm really considering hard on getting a 360 cause they got a pretty nice sale on the bundles tommorow. Anyway right now I own a PS3 so I'd probably just pick up a 360 for exclusives. Anyways I was wondering if someone could post me a link to an exclusive list of current and upcoming games.

Thanks!

P.S. So far the games I'd want to play are Ace Combat 6, Halo 3, Gears, Gears 2, hopefully there will be more =P Again Thanks!

I have a Pro 360 and so far the color has held up really well. I would definitely not recommend spending an extra $100 on an Elite just to get it black - if you're that worried about color just get a faceplate and console skin of your choosing instead. It would be much cheaper and there's a lot of options. Alpha_S_
I'm most worried about the controller, I'm pretty sure the console will hold up. It's just that I don't want my controller to turn 'piss yellow' in a way lol. Any other recommendations?

If you have an hdtv and are planning on downloading demos, movies etc. from the 360 then I recommend just getting the elite since it comes with an hdmi cable ( costs 50-60 seperate) plus it has the gigs(an extra 120 or so seperate) for future downloads that won't cluter in the near future.sagameister3

I picked up HDMI cords for my PS3 for like $10 lol, my only real concern with Pro is the colour.

Demos are never really that big and the pro has 60 GB. Also there's a site that sells HDMI cords dirt cheap. Plus he's going to use his PS3 for movies.

Thanks for the help lol. Also thanks for reading my whole post so you understood it all, about the PS3, etc =P I'm still hesitent on the 'more than enough to clean' part. Argh, if they only made a 60 GB Black ='( Anyways I'm going to think this through some more, not sure if I want to drop $400+ for 3 games (Halo 3, Gears, Gears 2). Thanks for the help though.

With Boxing Day sales in Canada I'm really tempted to buy a 360, just not sure which.

Elite or Pro?

I'm probably just going to buy it for exclusives, doubt I'll play online much. I really like the Elite cause it's black but I don't see the point in dropping an extra $100 for black, and additional space that I probably won't use (use my PS3 to watch videos, etc).

Anyways my one concern is that the Pro dirties. Does the white controller dirty easily or can it withstand dirt with some wiping down?

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I have a 60 GB PS3 (upgraded to 320 but w/e) and I have it hooked up to a 37" Sony Bravia. The thing is, every now and then, when I turn on my PS3, it beeps once to turn on, then it beeps again.

When I flip to HDMI 1, it says that the PS3 has detected an HDMI source, yadeeda, and I have to reset the display. My question is, why does it do that? I haven't disconnected any plugs from the TV or the PS3. It's happened 3 times now over the span of 2 months, it's starting to get annoying.

If it helps, I run my PS3 and TV through two differnet surge protectors, the TV is always on while the PS3 get's flicked off every now and then. Note that when I shut off my PS3 I also flick the back switch too, so the PS3 theoretically get's swicthed off twice.

Thanks!

Hey,

I was just wondering how sub-accounts work on a PS3. Right now I have a North American (Canada) account but I wouldn't mind making an EU and *** account for early content and different content. I just have some questions:

Can I use the same playstation user account for each sub account?
If I download a Japanese demo, can I log off and play it on my NA account?
Is there any harm in creating a sub account, then deleting it?

Thanks!

P.S. If anyone has any tips on creating an EU/*** account (addresses and what not), if you would be so kind to PM me that'd be great. Thanks again!

Media Molecule (LBP) and Kojima Productions (MGS) have teamed up together to make an MGS based 'super' pack for LBP. This includes costumes, levels, stickers, music, and a paint gun!

A primary complaint people had was that Sackboy could only jump, but with the new pack you'll be given a paint gun to shoot with using R1, Right Stick to Aim. Imagine all the possibilities now that Sackboy has a weapon!!!!!

Check it out, pack comes out Dec 23rd!

Playstation Blog:

Just when you thought we were done with the Holiday surprises (Free Santa, Festive Level Pack, LBC1 winners, etc, etc) we have one more announcement up our sleeve...and it's a dozy. Over the past few weeks, we've been biting our tongues, and finally we can reveal our latest offering (originally 'somewhat' announced at this years TGS) - Metal Gear Solid packs - Available 12/23 on the PlayStation Store.

LBP_MGS_Costume_GroupLBP_MGS_Level_Kit

Metal Gear Solid Premium Costume Pack
You've seen Solid Snake, but have you seen the rest of the cast? (well, ok...maybe you have... ) Meryl Silverburgh, Screaming Mantis & Raiden each have their own costumes from the MGS world. Get all 4 characters for the price of 3 at $5.99 on the PS Store, or pick your favorite and buy it individually for $1.99.

Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack
Now that you know about our Festive Level Pack, which fills your Pop-it tool with a ton of "Create" materials, objects and stickers, our Premium Level Packs introduce that and a whole lot more. So without further adeu...lets talk about what's inside the MGS Level Pack (and this time we mean "Level" pack...)

First off, you'll get a new Sackboy costume... the Gurlokovich Soldier.

gurlokovich_soldier_render_001

Plus tons of new stickers (72), materials (12), decorations (10), and objects (18).

The objects are especially cool, why you ask...well, in addition to these 'create' materials, our Premium Level Packs include new Story Levels and they're filled these new objects. That's because, Media Molecule teamed with Konami to create 5 new Story Levels and 1 new Challenge Level for you to enjoy.

[783

Now we couldn't just build a level using the basic tools above, we need music, new sound effects, and new elements to provide a true MGS experience. So you're getting these in the Level Pack, as well:

  • 1 new background music track
  • 3 new interactive music tracks
  • 1 new Metal Gear Solid themed 'sound object'
  • New Plasma Ball 'danger element'
  • New Laser Sight 'gadget'
  • New functioning Searchlight lamp - for those special 'exclamation mark' moments

...and finally, the piece de resistance...THE PAINTINATOR (and Paint Switch)

83

2656

Now, not only will you be able to run, jump, push, pull, swing, etc, etc in LBP, but now you'll be able to splatter anything that comes between you and the end of any level. Once you equip the Paintinator, you can send sacksized paintballs flying by mashing on the R1 button and using the right stick to aim. Few things about flying paintballs, when Sackboys are hit with them, it feels like a very weak slap. You can also shoot 'Brains' from a safe distance and progress thru levels much easier. In addition to the Paintinator, we're introducing a Paint Switch, so you can attach it to any object and set it to destruct after being splattered with enough paint. Here's a video to show you the Metal Gear Solid Level Pack in action...

Add to all that, there are 12 new Trophies to unlock (and if you pay attention to the story at all, we're not a big fan of Trophy Levels).

So now you see why we've been biting our tongue on this announcement. Tons of new gameplay, tons of new game-changing objects, and tons of create materials...all for just $5.99 (shesh...did that just sound like an infomercial?). We absolutely can't wait to see what the community does with this pack and the new types of levels this will bring to the Share Planet.

And wait...there's more...
So, here's one of the coolest things about this pack...you guys know LBP is all about PLAY, CREATE & SHARE - well, you'll be glad to know that this Level Pack holds true to that. For those who buy the Premium Level Pack, you get everything above (and hopefully a lot of fun in-between). If you don't buy it, you'll still be able to enjoy the MGS pack goodness. Here's how:

  • Non-MGS Level Pack owners can PLAY the MGS Story Levels by joining a "host" who owns the pack and play the levels online together. Now you won't be able to keep any objects, but you can have tons of fun just PLAYing.
  • MGS Level Pack owners will be able to CREATE levels with any of these items (including the Paintinator) and SHARE them online for everyone to play.

Again, we're very excited to present this MGS Level Pack to you as a taste of how LBP can and will continue to evolve over time. With the support of our community, whether it's creating new and awesome levels on the Share Planet or buying our Costumes and Level Packs, we'll continue to provide more LBP goodness down the road in 2009.

So check back on the PS Store on 12/23 and treat yourself to a present this holiday season :)

---------------------------

I am without a doubt buying this on Dec 23rd!
