Wii is already getting old... I think once everyone who wants one gets it after this holiday... everyone is going to realize the inferiority of the system. There is only so much you can do with the damn Wiimote to make it interesting.

Well said.

The GTA series has never been on the cutting edge of graphics, but rather the developers understand that the story and the gameplay are what make the series fun to play. To focus on graphics and even animations would detract from the heart of the franchise and the reason people (that I've talked to) love the game:

Freedom.

I just do not understand how improved graphics and realistic animations would detract from the game? It just sounds to me like us consumers are making excuses for developers to get lazy and not have to change the game for the better. Don't get me wrong, I love the freedom of GTA. However, San Andreas had more than enough freedom... how much more do we need? I think it would be MORE intriguing and groundbreaking of a game with immensely detailed environments, excellent animations, collision detection, destructible environments, etc. Who wants to watch a cut scene when the damn peoples fingers look like mittens? I am just saying I think the GTA series has already been known to have free roaming environments, I just want to see something new and fresh that they can be proud to add to the series.

I just wanted to make a quick post of my first impression and opinion of the GTA trailers. I just have to say I am not at all impressed with any of the animations or textures. I feel the character models are under-textured and have far less resolution than new next-gen games (COD4, UT3, Crysis, MGS4 to name a few). I especially expected top-notch textures from RockStar and the GTA series since their reputation for raising the bar in the genre is unparalleled. Also, I just wanted to comment on the body/hand movements, which still seem noticeably robotic and unnatural like the previous games. I would have expected that with the hardware available with the next-gen systems that they would have put more work into the character models and animations. Any one else notice this? I am curious on your thoughts!

Well, if you are on the go a lot the PSP is sick. I've done some traveling this summer and even more recently and I had wished I owned a PSP!:? I would definitely get one considering there is so much use for it: games, movies, music, internet. I mean it's like a iPod Touch with sweet graphics... and way cheaper!

Go to www.bestbuy.com and search for the 80GB console. Click the "Offer by mail" link and it will show a list of the movies that you can choose. You have 5 categories and you select one from each.

...is not "as" backwards compatible as the original 60GB version. I don't see how, but is their ANY truth in this whatsoever? I know that the newest 40GB version has no backwards compatibility, but I don't understand how it could affect the 80GB version?

I am getting a ps3 for x-mas and i couldn't be more excited (I feel like a kid again getting Power Rangers!). For $499 there is no doubt that it is the best valued next system and quite possibly the best ever. I mean the fact that it has blu-ray, built in wi-fi, free PSN, and bluetooth speaks for itself. I for one cannot wait to get my hands on this system! I would get a 360, but there are so many "hidden costs" to obtain same performance as ps3, I mean hell, the elite system is only $50 cheaper! To get full HD movie experience and wireless internet, you are looking at a $750 system... what a joke. Not to mention, Microsoft screwed themselves with development effectiveness by not having all systems contain a harddrive and utilizing old DVD media. Now, all games need to keep in mind consumers that DO NOT have harddrives and DO NOT have HD DVD media. Sony bought a big pair of shoes and has room to grow in them!
