I seriously want to know. I've been out of this whole videogame consoles thing for the past couple years and apparently this whole fanboy thing is fricking huge. I just cant understand why though. I remember buying the Dreamcast and having so much fun and then just converting to the Ps2 when the former system died out. I currently do not own any next gen consoles but here are some questions/observations I want some of yall to read:
1. Why do people feel the need to compare games and consoles constantly, bring up consoles that have nothing to do with the conversation and just constantly trash talk? Like why does every Halo 3 discussion have to start being compared to Killzone 2 and why does every 'Warhawk is doing good' discussion have to end with someone talkin about how Lair bombed?
2. Why do some console owners pray for the downfall of another rival system so much? Are they that insecure of the competition that they need it to fail miserably in order to actually feel comfortable with their system?
3. Why are sales relevant to gaming? I've played some*expletive not included*games that where big sellers. Just because everyone is dumb enough to buy something does not make it worth it.
4. Whats up with that weird *expletive not included* of made up lingo of cows, sheeps and wtf ever else? Am I the only one aware of what a loser this makes people look like? Also was all this stuff coined by gamespot? I see its all defined in a stickied thread. This sounds like some kinda well-thought out Captialistic plan... get the consumer to buy products to PROVE how big of a fan he/she is and how their product is superior. I see users get caught into the whole 'Support Sony and buy some Blu-Ray discs craze." or 'support the Xbox 360 and buy any game that is released'It's akin to that G.W. Bush "Fight terrorism by buying more stuff", capitalizing off consumers' stupidity
5. Why does one person's opinion about a videogame matter so much when the person works for a online videogame website? What is the vigorous training or academic certification that warrants their opinion being valued more than yours or mine? Judging from the lack of a life displayed by the majority of the people posting in this subforum, it is safe to assume that most people here are more qualified to judge games than the professionals themsevles, having amassed days on end in your basement or stuck in your parents house for the better of 29 years playing WoW. On a somewhat related note, QUIT HYPING GAMES. Manage your expectations better and your life will be a whole lot better
6. Why do people click onthreads for opposing videogames solely to bash them in and outside System Wars
7. Are people so stupid that they cannot see
a) How the PS3 has more than 5 games worth playing
b) How the Wii can appeal to hardcore gamers as well as casual
c) How the Xbox360 has been so successful since its launch?
8. WTF is wrong with a game that is on more than one system? Just because a game is ported does not make it any less entertaining. Anyone who thinks otherwise is likely to be a little too dedicated to his system.
9. Sequels have the tough task of trying to balance using what has worked in the past with the new and for the most part sequels I've played have done this EA INCLUDED. People who say that Madden is just roster updates each year irritate the hell out of me. If your game is constantly one of the highest sportsellers yearly, why in God's name would you do a complete overhaul of the series? Granted the series can use a bit of freshening up but to call the game the worst madden ever is completely stupid. How can it be the worst if the series has consistently built on each years version? They may have had some lateral progress over the last couple years, but to say that they producers are lazy and what have you is just plain ignorant. Until you have consistently put out and award winnnig game, STFU
10. Comparing different systems is like comparing apples and oranges, except at the end of the day, you dont get any vitamins and minerals. There are too many intangibles concerning each system so give it a rest.
