I have GC and Wii and obviously bunch of games for both. Since I bought the Wii, the GC has stayin its box because I can just play the GC games on the Wii. The backward compatibility gives you the best of both BUT I dont understand why you would choose older GC titles over their Wii remakes because the control difference is huge and far more satisfying on the Wii. Zelda TP and RE4 spring to mind. The price is justified because its the cheapest of the 3 big guns. Despite what people say, you'll have fun with it. Certainly it does suck in people to play who would never play games simply because it feels intuitive..........number 1 reason the console continues to sell well. If you want the serious titles, the gore, the graphics, buy 360 or ps3. If that stuff isn't the be all and end all, then consider the Wii. Either way, I doubt you'll crying over your choice.wiisham

quite simple, TP for the GC is more authentic because the maps aren't inverted and link is a left hand swordsman

RE4 for the GC is better because it has a 'red' laser instead of a green pointer. I'm not sure if you can turn off the green pointer but it ruins the experience for me.

The problem with many Wii games is not that they are aiming at casual gamers. That is in fact it's strength. The problem is that 3rd party companies are not trying hard enough. The Wii itself is a great system, and the majority of games that Nintendo makes for it are fantastic. However, it seems that 3rd party companies are either not taking it seriously, or are relying on the system's popularity to sell games. Complaints should really be directed at the aforementioned 3rd parties, not Nintendo and the Wii itself. Better yet, simply avoid buying low quality games, which is the logical choice in the first place. Theoretically, the 3rd parties will stop making money if people stop buying their low budget games, and in turn they will either work harder on quality, or abandon the Wii market...hopefully the former. I can only assume this problem persists due to Wii owners desperately looking for games to fill their collection, and either not checking the quality of the game prior to purchase, or not caring enough. This will probably fade it time...but if you must complain direct the complaints to the 3rd parties as it will help accelerate the transistion.

At any rate, it seems there are at least a few 3rd parties that are taking the Wii seriously. The Conduit looks like it could be the Halo of Wii...if done right. So let's cross our fingers for that.

nintendo makes tons of mediocre crap too like mario sluggers and animal crossing for the wii which is hardly a step up (if not down) from the gamecube versions. Even SSBB wasn't as big a step up as I would have hoped.

3rd parties don't take the wii seriously because they see the attach rate of each console is slim to none, so they aren't going to make a super high budget game that nobody will buy (see zak and wiki)

Attach rate is slim to none? Since when? And Since when was Zack and Wiki a super high budget game? That nobody will buy? It sold well enough for Capcom, as it met their sales expectations. And are you telling me that SSBB isn't a step up from SSBM in what dept? In graphics? Have you compared the two?

Since always

ZW was as high budget as it gets for the wii from 3rd parties.

It sold HORRIBLY and capcom was extremely disappointed, the price went down to $19.99 within two months. It DIDN'T even sell 1 million copies and it was a great game with great review scores. Hell even red steel sold a million copies and that game was sh!t.  So don't pretend it sold well and that Capcom was happy with it because they weren't and I'm sure they lost money on developing it.

SSBB wasn't nearly as memorable as SSBM. The graphics were a slight step up from SSBM and the gameplay add ons and modes were not nearly as abundant as the ones found in SSBM compared to SSBM vs. the original SSB.  I haven't just compared the two but all three games. SSBM is the BEST in series. The more and more SSB games that come out, the more they lose their charm. I would personally be happy if they stop making them. I pumped thousands of hours in SSB, hundreds into SSBM and less than 50 into SSB. I suppose the fighting mechanics are getting old.

btw, everytiem another company sells a new console there is a back library of hit games to buy, be it MS or Sony but they are pumping out holiday home runs. Yet nintendo doesn't make enough new games for the holidays (rather.. enough GOOD games) and it's inexcusable at this point.

wow.. just wow delusional fanboyism at it's finest. btw, ssbm>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ssbb. Am I am right, nintendo had no idea the wii would sell, so they postponed TP for the Cube to port it to the wii so they have a system seller at launch. This has been discussed numerous times.

Animal Crossing, Tales of Symphonia 2, Call of Duty World at War, and Wii music are all games that I would think would sell pretty good during the holidays.knightfire35

a lot of retailers are sending wiimusic back. They dont' even want it on their shelves. What were the NPD, 80,000? Compared to like 300,000 wiifits.. something that came out 6 or 8 months ago.
