I was reading somewhere on IGN where two editors were discussing which fighting game was better. BlazBlue or Street Fighter IV. Its a shame how lots of people were saying that SFIV was the best fighting game ever, and now all those people are slamming and sh**ting on the game badly calling BB the better game with a balanced system and vice versa. Me personally I don't like BlazBlue. The way I see it, Rock tunes don't make a game's soundtrack great, and neither does flashy moves either. A fighting game has to have more than that to prove being better. If you've played Guilty Gear, well you've automatically played BlazBlue since its technically the same game, same designs, same lame old freaky anime loli looking characters or whatever you call it. I can agree with some of the comments that Street Fighter has always played the same, if you think about it. SF's move set still resembles the old SF II gameplay with the exception of a few new supers every now and then.
I've never liked SF, but see unlike some people. My opinions aren't fake. I don't claim to like a game and then change my mind when a newer game comes out. I never liked the art style of guilty Gear, let alone the soundtrack or gameplay. I was more of a King Of Fighters sort of fighting game fan although I hated the Arcade style due to some moves in KOF2002 being rather difficult to do with a controller. Not to mention bosses were always cheap. I've played just about enough fighting games to know that Blazblue is simply another clone of a game that has all ready been made. At least when Capcom and SNK decide to fuse characters they do change a few things instead of making clones of the same game with a different name title.
Its hard for me to fall head over hills for a game that has less than 20 characters, strange goofy designs that look as if Tim Burton was responsible for doing it.
Chances are BlazBlue will be another 2D fighting game for my collection since I've been collecting every single fighting game including classics. I'm not going after flash and hype when I pick up a game I want to play. I got bored of Guilty Gear extremely fast. The gameplay felt lack luster. I need fighting games that take themselves a bit more seriously. Kof does a good job of that with 2002 all except for the sloppy controls and difficult to perform special moves. If it were to get an update, and the controls improved. It would definately put BB in its place. There are allot of people that say Street Fighter IV is a pile of trash, SFIV is awful, It has lame music, the gameplay is the same and etc. These are the same people who were giving the game high reviews but all over IGN there is great hatred toward the game now that everyone owns BlazBlue.
Unlike those posers, its like I was saying. CLones can't impress me. If your not smart? Well of course you can't see the similarties to both BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. Games with identical soundtracks, character designs, and strange backgrounds to the levels you battle in. Not to mention both games have small cast of characters. If the makers of the two games are the same. Chances are they gave up on Guilty Gear because they didn't know what to do with it. GG Accent Core is the same game as Guilty Gear X2 with the exception of a New Sol and a few changes. Overall its still the same game.
