Halo 2 was epic for me as well, then Halo 3 and Reach, all fun memories. But the crown has got to go to Counter-Strike. I would come home late, go in the basement and play until the wee hours of the night, experimenting with maps and skins. It was like a religion for me. I then moved on to Counter-Strike for the Xbox which was still fun and I invested a lot of hours into it but the one on PC remains forever my first online love affair...

Drool. I wonder why more TC novels haven't been put into film adaptations. There's one I think...

I have a Modern Warfare 2 250 Gb limited edition. Well, the problem is that whenever i put a game into the tray, it'll say "reading" then "Open Tray" and nothing else happens. I can't play the games I have on disc because of that. Are there any known solutions to this problem? My warranty just ran out too.

How old is your router? If it is an old one, their wireless is not as good for being old technolgy. You can try get a better wireless router to get a stable connection to your PC.magicalclick
I had it years after Media Center was launched, and it never fails on my computer, I never get a cut of the signal like it happens with it.

I think this is really a great program to watch movies on your TV but the problem I have is that it disconnects too often and says they can't find the PC in the middle of the movie. My computer is on a wireless connection if that helps but the Xbox is plugged to the router. Anything i can do to prevent that from happening again?

Why online? What area of Canada are you in? I am in Vancouver and there are several places that offer the program.

Video game design and programming is something you really need someone around to ask questions and bounce ideas off of.

I'm in Montreal, there's a lot of opportunities to work in the video game business but not too many schools offering good solid knowledge. I just want to make a game that works first and then try to think of something else. Spending time in front of the computer learning about a big deal of a passion can only be beneficial. I've wetted my feet in the system of games and I like what I saw. Obviously a first game shouldn't be too complex, I think my biggest hurdle will be working in a team environment, they are lone wolves who made great games it's just time-consuming but I can see myself jamming it all together by mysel(assuming I can use foreign audio)f , and there are always contacts. I might take it just to find a hobby I really have crazy ideas for games I think the future is in player movement.

Well I was thinking about taking this course, the first one on the list: http://www.gameinstitute.com/packages.php It'd be good as a thing on the side no stress work when you want to and it's cheap, if I can cumulate knowledge surely I can bring to the world Moder Day Ninja or Martial Arts Championship.

Are you talking about a degree? If so, there are no game development degrees that cover all aspects of game development if your intent is to do it alone. Beyond that, im not familiar with any that are purely online either.

If you are asking for general online courses (with no degree), then it might exist. But i doubt it. Your best bet would be to pick up a book on a certain aspect or to simply try it and learn through experience.

Yes, in the best of worlds, I would like something that is recognized by the game industry as a degree in game developpement. f that doesn't exist, I guess I'll have to go the independent route.
