To answer you guys questions....Yes it's amazing!! It plays in real 720P. I've noticed there games have shaper edge and look smoohter then my ps3 versions of some of them such as Batman:AA. Also, Borderlands looks way better than the PS3 and 360 version. I'm addictted to Unreal Tournament 3 on there.

The multiplayer works great! I've been kicking butt for a while on there. Fast and fluid. I think people are comparing this to a regular internet game streaming speed like ps3 and xbox. This is running on very powerful tech known as Cloud Computing. There is no lag!! Seriously. All you need is like a 1.5 to 2mb connection and your set! 5 for high def. Mine is 20mb.

Someone was posting screenshots of their Onlive games in system wars. They looked like pretty bad quality compared to the real thing.DragonfireXZ95

Well then they had a bad cam or something because i play it and it looks amazing!

I got my invite earlier today! I've been playing all day. No lag on my end whatsoever and I use my wired 360 controller. And yes you can tell the games are running at 720P. Haters need to stop. This thing is real and looks amazing!! I have Batman AA on Ps3 and i will say that the Onlive version is so much more smoother!!

[QUOTE="-Hoax-"]I stripped one of the screws needed to get to the motherboard so i cant add the paste...but if you get YLOD again cant you just add more paste?-Hoax-

You could, but at that point it would only be a temporary fix at best. Overheating can cause a lot more problems than just dried up thermal compound. A huge reason why so many 360s died was because microsoft used x-clamps to hold down the cpu/gpu and when a lot of heat was added the pull of the x-clamps meant that the motherboard would warp. After a motherboard warps the pins on the cpu/gpu wont hit the contact points of the motherboard. Now the ps3 doesn't have the x-clamps but it does still produce enough heat to where the board can become malleable. So at that point you'd need to reflow the board.

Thanks for clearing that up :) Know I need to find away to unscrew a stripped screw. :(

you can use a very small drill bit. Just be careful and stay in the middle of the screw.

A year, 4 days, and counting. I just cleaned out the dust and replaced the thermal compound.

Its a 60gb model too.

TehSonofUgly

Did you do anything specific to have it last that long? I read that if you keep the ps3 flat as opposed to vertical, it holds longer. Have you used the heat gun? what temperature? How long did you hold it over the chips, 15 20 sec, longer. Did you do both sides of the motherboard? Let me know... trying to gather as much info as I can to make it last as long as possible.

Well I bought it secound hand, the blu-ray lens was burnt out, and the first thing I did was redownload all my games and stuff from my previous PS3 (was stolen.) That took about 5/6 hours. The next morning I went to turn it on and it had YLoD. I opened it up and there was dust everywhere (dust balls literally filling all the open space.) So I cleaned out all the dust and then just replaced the thermal compound. I used Artic silver 5 for the cell, but ran out with just a little on the RSX so I had to use some cheap radio shack kind. I didn't use a heatgun at all.

Smart man there! I don't care what they say on youtube...NEVER use a heatgun on a motherboard of anykind!

Onlive, the only service when you buy a game, you really don't own it unless you still keep paying the service :?Giancar

You are mistaken. With Onlive you can still play the games you buy anytime using their service. You just wont get all the bells and whistles with it.

Alan Wake and MGS4 and are both 720P. That site that test's them only runs a test using 1 buffer. Both MGS4 and Alan Wake use more than 1 buffer to reach it's 720 display.
