There are 3 different outcomes, so only 3 different endings (and they're not even that different from each other). It's not that hard to understand. Boy are they stupid.
@ERoBB I can't comment because I never watched Six Feet Under, and I might have gone too far disregarding an entire medium, admittedly. Still, Mass Effect is not the kind of franchise of the symbolic variety that makes us question our existence, it is a space shooter partly based on fanservice, and with that being a factor of ME's appeal, i don't think it should be considered as high brow as Six Feet Under. Especially when the devs tried to make profit by hiring some random bloke from Jersey Shore for voice acting.
@ERoBB That's your opinion on the matter, mine is different (and not baseless at all). Art is subjective and relative, and in my eyes, long-running mainstream franchises don't hold much artistic value so I couldn't care less about the artistic integrity of Mass Effect.
I'm all for alternate endings if fan reaction is overwhelmingly negative. That's what they did with Neon Genesis Evangelion, and the results were positive. Lay off the artistic integrity bullcrap, video games and TV shows are not high pieces of art, they are entertainment and meant to please the IP's general demographic, and Bioware failed to deliver completely. Gimme a break.
Gosh, I didn't realize there were so many close-minded users. Guess that's what happens when you're born too late. You think competition and challenge are the only things that matter in interactive entertainment and your little brain isn't developed enough to understand some of the more complex/abstract concepts in art.
