4890 is faster, but you don't get dx11 (or eyefinity I think)
Edit: Also, gets hot, from what I've heard.
Does anyone know if they've figured out a way to fix the gray screen / flickering problems with that card?
Technically, since porn is classified as "explicit material," and explicit material isn't expressly protected by any (federal?) freedom of information laws, I'm pretty sure you could prohibit this. Right? (Although I don't think he could be arrested).
Wow you guys, try being a little more open minded. "Military Technology" doesn't just mean "Weapons."
I would have to go with this:

Obviously, it isn't perfected yet, but it seems like it could have some really cool applications.
This isn't a military technology (yet), it's highly experimental but it's cooler and more applicable IMO:

It's a similar idea.
Sorry, I can't link for some reason
OK, so I have:
IntelP45 motherboard
E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB
7200rpm 320GB SATA HDD
2 x 1GB DDR2 800SDRAM
Probably soundcard + headphones, or headphones with integrated soundcard
Wiredkeyboard
This monitor
Wired mouse
DVD/CD combo drive
floppy drive
Also, I will probably crossfire 4870s in the near future
How much wattage will I need?
Also, money is a factor. The build without PSU is about $950, needs to be under $1100 total. Can I pull off the wattage necessary forthecrossfire for that price?
I heard it will be released the same day as the Halo movie.
So it looks like we'll be waiting quite a while.
I recently started playing my old n64 again, and I found a third-party controller in perfect condition in my basement. So I decided to ditch the 10-year old stock controller I was using and use it instead.
Now, I vaguely remember there was some reason I never used that controller. I wasn't sure, but I thought the N64 just didn't respond to it, and behaved like there was no controller plugged in, so I thought "What's the worst thing that could happen?" and plugged it in. Then I switched the power on and nothing happened.
I think it's completely dead. There's no power light or anything. I'm positive it was the controller that killed it, because it was running perfectly fine just 10 seconds before I plugged it in. I found a few cases of this type of problem, and some people's n64 started working again the next day, while others' never recovered.
I suspect the PSU or controller port shorted out, I know for sure it is not the memory/booster pack or game pack. Any advice on how to fix it? Or at least an explanation of what causes this? Because nobody seems to have any definitive answer to this problem.
It's been a few hours since it burned out.
