so aparently, the US government has the ability to defy wind if the conspiracy theory is accurate. That's not even logical.

That's like saying "wow, that apple fell out of the tree and wasnt affected by wind. it must've been the government!"

there's no connection at all. tell your coworker he's stupid.

Sorry, I'm not a game designer, I'm only in high school, but I've researched this before.

If you want to become a game programmer, basically all you need is sufficient programming experience and a love for video games. If you want to start programming I recommend taking a class for learning a high-level programming language, as it will make it much easier to pick up one (or more) of the middle-level languages typically used in game design.

Right now I'm learning java, which I don't recommend as a first language (I was misinformed, I thought the class was for BASIC and C++). It's not real useful in coding games. If I were you, I would start off with something like python, I've heard it's a good starting language, and then you can work your way up to something like C++ (the most commonly used language in game development) and then you're good to go.

The obvious benefit to being a game designer is that you get to make games how you want. Way more fun than most other jobs. To the hardcore gamer, it's like the coolest job in the world. And, umm... you could brag about it I guess.

I'm pretty sure game have a slightly lower than average wage compared to other programmers, but still decent. I think the average for game developers is like65k/yr while the average of all computer programmers is like 80k (not completely sure about my numbers).

Yeah like I said, I'm not a game designer ATM, but hopefully I was helpful.

In michigan, it occasionally drops way down, like -10F (not sure on celsius, too lazy for math). Not very often though, that's like an absolute low.

[QUOTE="stepnkev"]

I sure am glad I never bought Vista. When I built my own PC, I decided on Windows XP even though Vista was already out. I just had a gut feeling something like this was going to happen. I was always happy with Windows XP so no need to waste money on an OS that hasn't even proved itself.

i had the exact same plan, I'm saving up for a gaming computer, and I was going to get xp, until I heard about W7.

If the number of disasters reaches it's peak in 2012, then it's a good thing, because that means things will only get better from there if it decreases from then on.

Also, it's a load of crap. There is no computer program that could have predicted all those things (out of the blue anyways, without factoring in every factorable factor (lool)). The mayans actually made many inaccurate predictions. Even if they ARE right, and we all die, it's not like we can do anything.

The mayans also predicted that their empire would be second-to-none, how did that work out for them...?

People said the LHC would blow up the earth. I don't know about you, but the earth feels very un-blown-up to me. (I still make fun of those idiots)

There was no computer virus that caused armageddon in the year 2000, despite all the "predictions".

So I don't believe anything will happen in 2012. Mainly because the mayans are all dead, which directly contradicts the prediction I mentioned above, so I have no reason to believe this one is accurate.
