Lost Odyssey review rant

The review of Lost Odyssey is up. It got a 7.5 which is a pretty decent score seeing that almost all the reviewers are, for some reason, all out to get turn based games.

There was only one thing that really ticked me off in this review. That would be the "Derivative" complaint named in the bad side. Now this was obviously a complaint that this game was somewhat a copy of the Final Fantasy series. This I have no problem in admitting that this game LOOKS like Final Fantasy, but a copy?

Heck no! It IS the FF series!

In 2003, Hironobu Sakaguchi voluntarily stepped down from his post as an executive vice president at Square.

For those who don't know, Hironobu Sakaguchi is the creator of Lost Odyssey. Hmmmm... Hironobu Sakaguchi? You mean the CREATOR of the FF series? Bingo. So heres my beef: How can this game be called a "copy" of the FF series when the same guy who started the FF series made this game? How can he copy on himself???:? Pretty ridiculous in my opinion. This reviewer really needs to gets his facts straight because it is NOT a copy of Final Fantasy.

Lost Odyssey.....finally a worthy JRPG?

Well if you can't tell, I'm totally psyched for this game! Only 5 days before its release.:) I think Sakaguchi really did a great job on this game, the previews look absolutely awesome. And Gametrailers seems to like this game too, its gave ot a 8.8 in its review. Although GT tends to give higher scores than GS, I think GS's score wont be too bad. Any who, I'll decide for myself of the game is worthy when I play it myself.

Finally, some old school greatness!

I just bought Conta 4 yesterday, and I got so say, IT'S AWESOME!!! Konami finally went back to what made Contra great, hardocre 2D side scrolling shooting awesomeness! :) After a string of mediocre games on the PS1 and PS2, I'm glad Konami went back to the old school style and made this awesome game. Well I'm out, I got to save the world and kill some alien scum!

A tribute, to a legend

Hi all, as some of you may know, tomorrow is the birthday of a very special person, Mr. Hironobu Sakaguchi. Now for those who don't know who Hironobu Sakaguchi is, he is the father of the Final Fantasy series.

It all started in 1983 where he co-founded Square. After a string of unsuccessful games, he decided to take all of the companies funds and make a last effort to make a successful game. In December 18 1987, he released his thought to be last game, and ironically named it "Final Fantasy". The game was an instant hit in Japan. Suprised that it did so well, Square quickly started developing a sequel. Having tied up all the loose ends in Final Fantasy thinking it was his last game, Sakaguchi felt free to take the sequel in a entirely new direction. This is where came the FF tradition to make each new FFs unrelated to the others. He directed FFI through V and produced VI through XI as well as having a hand in making others classic games such as; Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Cross and many more.

Hironobu Sakaguchi became the third person inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame on April 5, 2000 because of his tremendous amount of games sold and created. Having resined from Square-Enix in 2003, he has founded Mistwalker with the financial backing of Microsoft Gaming Studios to produce 2 role-playing games for the 360 in an attempt to raise 360 sales in Japan. This is ironic, because Sakaguchi is now battling against his own creations.

While I am quite fond of the FF series & Square, personally, I think the series has been going downhill since FFX. I think Sakaguchi made the right move in leaving Square. So here's to Mistwalker and Sakaguchi, wishing them all the best in making, hopefully, awesome RPGs. So Sakaguchi, have a great birthday, because you certainly deserve it!;)

Here's a link to his biography in Wikipedia

And here's a link to a Final Fantasy 13 part retrospective, it is very interesting and I recommend you watch it:)

Guitar Hero Encore Rock The 80s = Disappointment

I was disappointed that I bought this game...
There are some good songs, but some bad ones too!
I Wanna Rock ruined the hole game for me, its an awesome song but the singer totally sucked!!Also, the difficulty of the game is WAY too easy! I still haven't got all 5* on expert on GH2, and I beat all the songs 5* on expert in this game in less than 4 hours!
Compared to GH2, this games quality is inferior
Overall, this game is definitely NOT worth the 50 some bucks I payed for it!

Only one tune to go....

Only one tune to go till I have 5* on all the carrer songs in Guitar Hero 2!! Psycobilly Freakout was hard, but I pulled it off somehow!!:P Now there`s only one song in my way to achive my goal...that song is Misirlou... It will be hard but know I can do it! That Log guitar will be mine!!!

Awesome Video Game Covers

I recently found a site called Dwelling of Duels that has a monthly
constest where people submits a song they made that goes with the
monthly theme (Ex: Chrono month, Mana month, etc...) and then all the songs are ranked. Last month was Chrono month, and was it awesome!!!!!

Heres the link to the site http://dod.vgmix.com/

Mastered Guitar Hero II?

Have you mastered Guitar Hero II and looking for a new challenge? Well this will keep you occupied till' Guitar Hero III comes out! Try playing on your opposite side. And once you've mastered that, try putting on the lefty flip on while staying on your right side, vise-versa for left players. I've tried it, and it's totally crazy, but very funny!!
