Don't get me wrong, I love me some FF but I feel that after FFXII, Square Enix went down a level in my eyes. And now that Sakaguchi is gone, it just feels like FF has lost it's soul, it's missing that little something that you need to make a game succesful in my opinion. Of course i'm still gonna buy it cos i'm a sucker for anything with Final Fantasy in it's name but not with the same feverish anticipation I felt when buying the older games. I'm not saying this just to take a stab at FFXII or Square Enic and FFXIII could prove me totally wrong but I just wanted voice my opinion on the whole situation. So is anyone as excited about the game as they used to be when the likes of VII, VIII, and IX were coming out?
I agree with what you mean about how Square Enix are adding more competition to the genre which inevitably makes the quality of the games being released quite high, but after FFXII, I just think they've gone really down hill and now that Sakaguchi is a part of Mistwalke I believe they're going to be the people to beat to "win" the genre this generation
I know I might sound like a woman but I personally enjoy a good love story in my FFs, as long as it comes with an evil villain bent on world domination.
At first I was really excited to learn how the story continued with Advent Children but after I watched it (even though I loved it) I felt they should have just left the game alone at that point and started focusing on what happened before the events of FF7.
