Ghosthunter

Ghosthunter was, all in all, a decent effort by Sony Cambridge. I didn't enjoy it as much as Primal, but I didn't really expect to. It still usesmuch of Sony Cambridge's trademark humor, though!

The game had some cool locations, interesting monsters, and aall rightstory (even if it kinda crapped out near the end) but most of all it was fun to play. I think it's the type of game not given a chance by too many gamers (and I'll admit, I wasn't too eager to play it the first time I saw it in a store) but if you like horror-themed shooters, you'd do well to pick this one up. Lazarus is a great main character, and catching ghosts can be a blast.

Rogue Galaxy

Yeah I admit I liked this game while I was playing it, despite the groan-inducing bad dialogue and fairly generic characters/story. It had charm. It was from Level 5. But now, maybe a week after beating it, I still feel ripped off by the game. I mean, what a crappy ending. It couldn't have been much worse. Rogue Galaxy is totally for the people who play RPGs for the fun of the gameplay and not the depth of the story. Yes, it is nice to have both a good story and an awesome battle system (like Tales series) but it doesn't happen often. If I had to choose between having a shallow, boring story and a fun battle system I'd definitely choose the story. Probably the people who loved FFXII because it was fun to play would like RG. Both games felt soulless to me but I felt obligated to see them through. I regretted it both times.

Fortes Fortuna Juvat

So I finished Haunting Ground with ending A: Fortes Fortuna Juvat, I got dog rating A and Top Breeder status because I was really nice to Hewie. Which is funny because in real life I don't like dogs, but Hewie rawks. I think Haunting Ground is an awesome game and much better than Clock Tower 3, which is violent and cheesy. Capcom learned from it and made the better game HG. I assume, anyway. Also, why is it called Haunting Ground? They should've just stuck with the name Demento, because it fits the game so much better.

I've finished or quit most games I've been playing in anticipation of FFXII launch, which is technically tonight but I won't be getting the game until tomorrow.

Still Waiting On FFXII

So while I'm waiting for FFXII (aka the Event of the Year), I'm trying to finish the many games I've been playing. Radiata Stories is very time-consuming, but I should be able to finish most of the horror games I've been playing.

Also, I've pretty much given up on Shadow Man. I like the game's 'dark' style a lot, but there aren't many checkpoints and it is one of the most frustrating things I've played.

Rule of Rose was not what I was expecting, but it did have a great story. I DID like it, pretty much for its weirdness. The ending was very sad and it felt weird to get emotional at the end of a horror game. I'm going to have to play it over again sometime, because it seems I missed some things.

I've got Rule of Rose... do you?

Yes, Rule of Rose is a very demented game. I plan on finishing it this weekend if I can and then maybe writing a review. But man it's strange! In a good way.
Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm would be AWESOME if it weren't so 'laggy'.
I actually have this weekend off from work and I plan to spend a good amount of my time gaming.
College is boring the crap outta me this semester. I think the only thing somewhat interesting is Criminology. And then only somewhat.. My teacher seems to advocate the legalization of certain drugs, which bothers me. But I guess the other students see him as "young and hip".
Does anyone else think it's funny there's a nail polish called ORLY and they're serious about it? It's actually good stuff, lol.

My "New" Console

Well, I finally bought a Dreamcast. A little late, I know, but I think it's time I experienced some good older games I've missed. Also, playing older consoles will keep me occupied while new consoles come out that I can't afford. :P Other news.. I preordered Rule of Rose the other day, I can't wait! I'm also excited about FFXII, which comes out around my bday. It better be good, Square-Enix!

I've been working a lot lately and summer is almost over! I haven't had a lot of time for the internet... Once the fall semester starts up I won't be working as much and I'll be on the computer a lot more.

Quad Damage

So I've finally gotten past the dreaded level 7...

Venture Bros Season 2 starts on Sunday on Adult Swim! Yaaay!

I've also decided to try and collect the more unknown Atlus titles... I'm playing Samurai Western right now, and if you like beat-em-ups, it's really fun. Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken Land is also really good, if you can find it, and if unanimated cutscenes won't bother you.

Stuff

So, I've started replaying some older games I liked the first time or first couple times. I guess summer is the best time to do this. I think Primal should've gotten more recognition than it did. I'm playing it for the second time right now and I'm still impressed by it. Oh well, I always get flamed for my opinions because I don't always like the popular games. I think Primal > ICO. If I want to solve puzzles and have someone following me around, I'd much rather play Primal. End rant.

Oh yeah. Venture Bros. came out on DVD this past week. It's awesome and I've waited forever! I'm not disappointed! Season 2 starts soon!

Various Goings-on

I finally found a copy of the first Fatal Frame at EB Games, perfect condition. It seems really awesome so far, but I'm trying to not expect way too much from it, because I've already played II and III. FFII is so amazing.

I think I've finally given up on my AC:WW town. I've been playing it since January and I've gotten bored. You can only do so much. Also, I have nobody to play with since I don't have wi-fi.

The youngest Brain Age I've gotten so far is 38. Wow. I really need to work on that huh?

Cynicism.

I am sick of the next-gen talk already. I'm not one of those rich people who can pay $600 for a console, so what do I care about the games for it? I'm going to be sticking with my PS2 for a good long time, and that's fine with me. There are plenty of PS2 games I haven't played yet, and games yet to come out that look awesome.
Today I got 2 new games for my DS to prepare for the long car trip on Saturday. I guess we'll see what my Brain Age is, huh? Probably 80-something.
