My cable box is made of fail

So, the cable went out on the big TV in my house this morning. I was looking through the guide (on my TV, not in a magazine), and I noticed that a bunch of spots were blank, and one on channel 27 just said A@, so I went to that one, and then it wouldn't let me do anything. Then, I looked down at my cable box and, I swear, it said "fail." Then. my TV died.

I haven't checked if it still wrks on the basic cable TVs in the rest of my house, so at least there's still hope. Okay, smiles! :D

Change of plans

Okay, the site is being rly gay right at this moment (big surprise). It is not letting me post the majority of my guitar solos list I had planned to put out today. So, until; it decides to cooperate or until I figure out how to fix it, that "project" will be held off for a few days or so.

So, yeah.

1000 board posts party!

I just love to throw parties. I was going to make another guitar solos blog, but the site got rid of most of my list, so I'll have it up for ya tomorrow (or later today, technically...who cares?).

But until then, party for my 1000 board posts! Yay!

Rock's 5 best bass guitar moments

I've devoted plenty of blogs to the guitar, but today, it is the bassist's turn to shine. IMO, here they are, in increasing order:

5. "Seven Nation Army" off of "Elephant" by the White Stripes

Elephant cover

Although technically not a bass guitar moment (which is why it's at #5), Jack White's guitar+whammy pedal combo on this track mimics a bass guitar to near perfection (which is why it's at #5).

4. "Sweet Emotion" off of "Toys in the Attic" by Aerosmith

Toys in the Attic cover

Tom Hamilton's bass line pretty much makes the song. There would be no extremely popular song without it. It is the epitome of Hamilton's skill and technique.

3. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" off of "Ride the Lightning" by Metallica

Ride the Lightning cover

Many mistake this song's opening for an electric guitar, but as it turns out, it is actually Cliff Burton's bass played through distortion and wah-wah effects. Truly, an expert display of technique here by Cliff. May he rest in peace.

2 & 1. "My Generation" off of "Live at Leeds" and "My Generation" by the Who, respectively.

Live at Leeds coverMy Generation cover

Live at Leeds' 15-minute version of My Generation contained some impressive bass skillz by Mr. John Entwistle, but the original recording is where it all began (and I mean aaaaaaaaall of it). Back in '65, when My Generation was released, Pete Townshend's mysterious guitar disappearence on the track for Entwistle's 4 bass solos was quite surprising for most. It is regarded as rock n' roll's first bass solo ever, which is why My Generation earns the #1 spot.

Level 19 party!

First of all, I'd like to say thanks to all who have been posting on my blogs the last couple of days. I realy appreciate it.

Next, Level 19 party! *throws confetti* I am happy to have become a fall guy. It sounds like it would be a cool job. But for now, I'll just stick to learning to play the guitar. Oh, yeah. Did I ever mention that I finally got some lessons? Well, I did. My teacher kind of looks like Keith Richards, and if you don't know who Keith Richards is, what's wrong with you? JK. He's the guitarist for the Rolling Stones. That's him, down there.

So, enjoy the party, and thanks for your comments in the last couple blogs. Smiles! :P

The list that will never end ever: Guitar solos again!

Even more cool geetar solos for ya.

Have you seen this ****?: Montauk monster

Top story: creepy monster thing washes up dead on the shore of a beach in Montauk, NY. No one knows what it is, internet is buzzing about it. Check it out here at Newsday:

http://www.newsday.com/news/columnists/ny-lijoy0801,0,5138315.column

Or here at FOX News:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,395294,00.html

Personally, from the Newsday photo, it looks like someone's dog...that has been through some ****. From the FOX photo (which is the first one I saw of it) it looks more like some kind of monster (Metallica reference FTW) Maybe a turtle with no shell...that's furry. Who knows? Point is, it's creepy, take a good look.

I stole this idea from xlovedust and she stole it from someone else who probably got the idea from someone else as well, and so on. We're all thieves. Oh, well.

My clock is broked...

There is a computer room in my house. Inside my computer room is an atomic clock, the most reliable thing in the house for its purpose. Inside the clock, I'm guessing are a bunch of mixed up parts.

According to my clock, (let's pretend I'm not posting this at 20 minutes to 1 o'clock. Let's say it's still July 24th.) it is currently Sunday August 3rd. It was my only way to easily tell what day it was while on my komputer. I miss it...

Thankfully, the time on it still right, but it is fading away. My grandma thinks it's dying. I am sad to agree.... *sad face* T_T
