[QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"]the sony analogy doesnt hold true in the case of konami, konami didnt lose billions on R&D and bluray and release a console almost twice as expensive as the nearest competitor. and again no they cannot force him to port a game he doesnt want to, not only does he not want to but he has motive to not do so, he doesnt want to piss off the company funding his dream movie now does he ? and why isnt this thread locked already ? http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=25639722cakeorrdeathThe thread is already locked and please use the reporting feature in future.:) They own his game they can do what they want with it. The Kuturagi example was just supposed to illustarte that no one is untouchable and if Kojima grand standed (which I doubt he would ever do) he could be got rid of. yeah but he will be ousted the day after hell freezes over, cus there is no bad blood and the company isnt bleeding money among other reasons, and im saying if casey locked multiple threads like the one we are in now a few days ago and yesterday and told people to plz stop, why isnt this thread locked ? you are a mod arent you ?

[QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"]konami will do what they can to keep him pleased, otherwise piss this guy off and he may just leave and make his own srudio earlier than he was planning. he is in the stages of going independent already.fuzzysquashThe first part is right, the second part is not. It is true that Konami executives respect Kojima, but there is no evidence that Kojima intends to break off from Konami. Kojima Productions employees are all under Konami, and Kojima does not have a right just to swipe them away. Furthermore, Kojima has been at Konami his entire career as a game developer, and he has never indicated (to my knowledge) that he wants to break off. maybe i took him forming his own dev team and kojima productions the wrong way, my bad i guess, point is they arent gonna try to force kojima to do something he doesnt want to. [QUOTE="cakeorrdeath"][QUOTE="fuzzysquash"] It is true that Kojima has bosses at Konami, but he is not like regular developers who can be pushed around by their companies (i.e. Atsushi Inaba). He has unique status as a member of the board of directors and former Vice President of Konami Computer Entertainment Japan. James Mielke, who is a friend of Kojima's and a long-time industry journalist, has said that it's very clear that at Konami, "he [Kojima] is the boss," and what he says goes. For the source, see 1up Show episode on MGO a couple months back. Of coarse he has a much bigger influence than your average developer. Still don't think Konami will sacrifice millions and millions of dollars purely to uphold his artistic integrity. They might try harder to make a deal with Sony however. im pretty sure konami is somewhere in that deal with sony productions for the MGS movie, i think they plan on making up any losses with profits from the film. and considering sony is probably the biggest movie studio on the planet right now and had a record 2006 with most profits for a movie studio ever and most #1 movies ever, i dont blame em for having confidence in the movie deal. BTW what the hell is up with these GS bugs ? i gotta copy my post now before i submit cus more times than not it doesnt even show up, very annoying.
[QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"] last i heard it was kojimas team making the game in house, kojima productions or whaver its called, so yeah he has some say in what hppens to the game. and i think sony mightve already paid for exclusivety by signing on to produce the MGS movie and letting kojima direct which is what he has always wanted to do. you notice after this was annonced he started the 360 bashing and saying it cant handle the movie experience etc. so yeah if it did get port it would have nothing to do with kojima and his team and it would be a fundamentally different game and not in a good way.cakeorrdeathKojima works for Konami and so has to pretty much do as he is told, obviously his high profile gives him a stronger voice than most but I seriously doubt that if Konami deemed it financial beneficial to port the game he could do anything about it. As to the movie deal being strong evidence that Sony has already set up some kind of exclusivity deal I completely agree. Might possibly still only be a timed exclsuive though. No way to know. Some one else working on the port of the game would in no way make in fundamentaly different. It would be highly comparible to the situation of the recent porting of Halo 2 to PC being done by someone other than Bungie. didnt the halo 2 port flop ? you just proved my point or what ? and its a different thing to have a company port such a complex engine that relies so heavily on CELL to the 360 with a CPU and overall architecture radically different. not only that but the game was said to might not even fit on a 50GB bluray according to kojima, and the non standard HDD problem rockstar ran into. and to say kojima does what konami tells him to do just shows how much youy dont know about his situation at all. and im not sure but i think kojima owns the rights to snake if not some intellectual properties or other things of that nature. point being kojima doesnt want to port it, and konami will do what they can to keep him pleased, otherwise piss this guy off and he may just leave and make his own srudio earlier than he was planning. he is in the stages of going independent already.
Is it just me or did Kojima just confirm a X360 version? Nex_Ownagenah not just you, just you and the rest of the lemmings .

Whilst incredably high profile he is still only a developer. It is still the money men behind the scenes who own the product that will decide what is done with it. No doubt it would not even be his team which would be involved with porting the game if it did happen.
This I believe all comes down to negotiations between Sony and Konami and how much Sony are willing to pay (probably towards advertising) and what kind of exclusivity deal Sony are after (timed, etc).

[QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"][QUOTE="fuzzysquash"]people who say 360 is just for shooters are flamebaiters. They know better.Eltrozthats not the problem, the problem is most 360 owners only buy shooters and sports and sales prove this.
and tc i see a lot of shooting in mass effect, i hate it when people act like it is a rpg like FF is an rpg or something, it is just as much shooter than anything else, too human is action more than anything, and bioshock is action FPS or soemthing like that, the game is like riddick and no one called riddick RPG. seriously people just tack on games to make it look like it is more than it really is. First Mass Effect is a pure RPG only a fanboy would try to say otherwise. Also try reading I said Too Human and Bioshock have a strong RPG element not that they were RPGs. pure RPG i never laughed so hard in my life ! have you played a pure rpg in your whole life bud ?
