Of all you mentioned, I only liked Mirror's Edge, the rest just your overrated online cooperative war FPS. They ruined Bioware, they ruined Dragons Age and Mass Effect, they ruined Visceral Games, they already ruined Mirror's Edge 2 making it a Xbox exclusive...
This is a psychological issue of each individual, even bad parenting and troubles while being raised. It has nothing to do with games, I been playing "violent" games since I was 7 (yeah as a very little boy) and I never went punching and kicking ppl or anyone in school back then, and now as a young adult I've never felt the urge to get a gun and start a killing spree
I've always loved old school fps, I've been playing Doom 1 and 2 for years, expanding it with the community wads, I played the classic Wolf3d and it's sequel Spear of Destiny. So I'm pretty pumped to see how this one works out, I really love fast paced action, and no health regeneration is a plus to a more tactical approach. Yeah Mark kept dying, challenge is part of the fun that was torn apart by modern games.
I believe the problem was that the first game only came out on the Gamecube, and despite it's awesome reviews and being a gem of a game, when it came out Nintendo was (and still is at some extent) focused on more family friendly games thus the poor sales. So this "sequel" was like only for a niche market it was pretty hard for it to achieve success in kickstarter.
